I haven't made anything in forever, and that's really not a good feeling... but I just have no motivation any more. Most recently, I made a weapon for my avatar, but I don't really want to show off a Tori model too much and it's not like I really socialise in VR any more anyway.

I got another project I was working on for this avi, but I've just... lost the will to do it. It's not like it's just this avi either, I've all but given up on fixing the Daemon Girl up to a usable state (optimised beyond proof of concept) and I've other avis i want to build But I haven't do them.

AI is used by people who care about the results, trying to disrupt spaces where people care about the process. It is a "no process, only results" tool that is being used by people who want creative results without actually being creative.

I think there are many more issues around AI that don't get talked about much, and I think they're honestly more important than these. It's why, while I do evidently use it I am very very cautious about not over-using it.

For example, I made things like the installer on my recent sword and my seat system myself. I'm not much of a programmer, but I feel these need to be done by a real person because while they're tools, I want to learn these skills. Reliance on AI is, i think, going to be a huge issue very soon.

These have legitimately turned days of work into a few minutes. At the same time, I have a huge distaste for AI "artwork" or a full creation process based around AI. If results are all that matters it's NOT a creative work. If creativity is required, AI isn't applicable.

So if you come into a space of creativity and start trying to show off your non-creative works of course you're going to see pushback. That's why it's called slop, because it's not creative work, it's just a mimic. I don't think people generally articulate that very well.

I think this is why I don't have an issue with some narrow usage. I have used it to create blender plug-ins that have legitimately replaced days of tedious work with only a few minutes. I use these tools in my professional work because it is the better option.

For context: I create drone light shows, using blender and a plug-in called Skybrush. I don't talk about it much because this is essentially my day job. I have used AI to create a better proximity warning system, better lighting tools and formation transition tools.

Trying to build a new thing for my Avi, but I am once again running into "good" and "very poor" ratings being 1 tri apart. Why? no idea. Would be nice to have sensible limits, like with every other limit where it slowly increases. It doesn't even need to be much honestly.

My discord account is more than a decade old (March 2016). They still think I'm a child. Discord's TOS requires you to be 13, so the youngest i could be is 23. They still think I'm a child.

On the one hand it's pretty disheartening to see so many other seat systems being released, especially ones that are free, because that feels like it devalues my work somewhat. On the other hand, I don't own the concept, and I'm still certain that mine is the best at what it does.

So the #VRChat nameplate changed and... I think they've lost a lot of details, so I gave a shot at putting together a design. "This user has you muted" and "Earmuffs mode" are honestly absolutely vital to return.

Sometimes, every now and then, I have a moment where I just play with numbers like a kid plays with action figures. I'm supposed to be asleep right now but did you know if the sun was a banana alpha centuri would be 5,740km away? That's 1.5x the distance between LA ages NYC.
