@gamemakerstoolkit.com I just bought and am loving Word Play on iOS, it was already a blast on desktop, now I'm worried I might play it too much with it in my phone all the time... But am I going crazy, or should it be "[...] if they're the last tile" at the bottom of this perk description?

Got a lovely little project in the works for the Comfy Jam 2026 hosted by B1T. Look at her go! #gamedev #gamejam #easter #gamemaker

When my sleep-deprived brain said "defeated", what it meant was "completed"

I have finally played and defeated Shadow of the Colossus, the PS4 version specifically. What stood out to me most was how empty the open world was compared to modern games. As a result, it feels so much larger and you're really given the chance to take in the awe-inspiring view!

Any time the player has to make a choice, you need to communicate that through UI... I hadn't thought about it until now but I can't think of any part worse than pawn promotion. Aside from maybe the opposing AI as a whole. But... there's definitely some library out there for that already.

The thing about making a chess engine is that you're wrong about what parts are hard. You'll start out thinking "oh no, en passant!" en passant isn't going to be the hard part. It's going to be pawn promotion. You're going to hate pawn promotion.

Thank you to everyone who's played and rated LOCK TIME for the #GMTKjam so far! If you haven't given it a go, I might be a little biased but I think it's a pretty neat game! Pls? 🥺 itch.io/jam/gmtk-202... #gamedev #indiedev

My submission to the #GMTKjam #GMTK #gamejam is LOCK TIME, a small puzzle platformer that I swear is different enough from Mind Over Magnet to be its own thing! I'm super proud of how this turned out as a solo dev over four days! #gamedev #indiedev zacdevdude.itch.io/lock-time

It's only been a few hours and my friends over at BungleDungleGaming have ALREADY recorded and uploaded some gameplay of LOCK TIME! There is nothing better than seeing someone enjoy something you made! Also, fanart?! 😱😱😱 #gamedev #indiedev youtu.be/1-8JIkoAcGI?...

This is awesome! Be sure to check out the devs behind all these wonderful characters!

You know the procrastination has gotten bad when you open a social media platform you haven't used in weeks... Okay today will be different. I'm committing. Today, I will get stuff done!

Just thinking about this at a surface level... it might be a nice accessibility feature to quickly run through a tutorial again if you haven't played in years.

IGN@ign.com

Hideo Kojima has an amazing idea for a "Forgetting Game" where the main character gradually forgets important information and abilities if you take too long a break from playing.

Games User Experience Research Tip: Rewards that are delayed (e.g. take a while to arrive or take a lot of actions to arrive) need more feedback and support to be communicated to a player E.f. levelling up takes a while to arrive, a XP bar provides the motivation and feedback that it is coming

So he came back with answers: 1. He renders in Unreal Engine. (Very, VERY interesting) 2. A wide portfolio is better than one focused on one subject. 3. Jump on projects with indie studios because the industry sucks right now. (Continued in replies)

Update. The Lead Animator emailed me back. He said he was too busy for an interview but he said he would answer some questions about the industry. Score.

Came here for the Omori acapella, left feeling totally fulfilled and traumatised at the same time. This level of complexity in voice work is not something anyone is born with. This takes an incredible level of skill and years of dedicated training. Somebody hire this man already!

You said you wanted more video game music acapella content, so only a Fool in April would cave to such demands. 36 songs, 72 minutes long. A feast for the ears. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQBH...

Having grown up with the little green not-Yoshi, I am very excited to compare how the same levels and the same challenges feel with the new controls! Time to over-analyse another game instead of just having fun!

Teal Bald@tealgamemaster.bsky.social

Croc Legend of the Gobbos Remaster is out now and I had such a nostalgic blast! But my favourite part was the analogue controls makes it feel like a totally new game! Check out part 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Spj...

I'm very much not a visual artist these days, I prefer to figure out design problems in games. But back about 6-7 years ago, I drew quite a lot! And of course, before that, there was the epic saga of stick-figure spaceship battles... an even bigger crossover than Endgame, lemme tell you that.

I can now announce that I am one of a chosen few who will be part of @tvmstudios.bsky.social's Work Experience programme 2025! On the 30th of June I get to start an 8-week narrative design project as part of the programme! I'm very excited! Thank you TVM for the opportunity! #gamedev #indiedev

OK fellow indie game devs. Would you be interested in collabing in an indie gala? Where I get an artist to draw your character wearing some slay fashion alongside other indie game characters? Then we all get one big heckin piece of gorgeous art? Yes? No?

Would I be sued if I added a bumpscosity slider to a game? I just feel like there's so much we can learn from The Stanley Parable in terms of accessibility.
