I’ve been getting a lot of smiles, laughs, and comments and today a woman told me I made her whole day. Riding around with this guy has been a blast.

Before and after: 6 years ago, Utrecht restored the Catharijnesingel. Once filled in during the 1970s to make way for traffic, the historic canal now flows again around the old city, lined with pedestrian paths, bike lanes, and a park-like landscape.

because 1) the beginning button at this intersection is a placebo and doesn't actually do anything besides turn the pedestrian light on when car traffic shouldn't be crossing and 2) the car traffic pattern is messed up because the drivers can't legally go anywhere ...

... kids are fighting a constant stream of drivers that shouldn't be there in order to cross the street. let's have the courage to tell drivers no, yeah? they can go around the block to avoid terrorizing children as they go somewhere else.

i talked to a cop who is blocking off one of the streets to tell him they should block off the other and he said he'll call his sergeant who would make that call 🀠 we will see if it actually happens

real talk though... what are we doing here? like literally, what are those drivers doing? why isn't this road blocked off? there is a massive festival going on with lots of kids. the crossing road is blocked off such that none of the cars on the left can legally go anywhere. #lowell #lowellma
