Sort of related, I've been here for 2 years and am already in the 80th percentile in terms of highest seniority. That seems like my organization is chewing through engineers no?

Good UX feels like such an afterthought for folks right now in software, when you can just slop generate and compose material UI components. I have been fighting hard to have our new hires think a bit deeper about how they would interact with the UI as the end user.

For as much as the engineering is good where I work, I also fear that I have picked up quite a bit of tolerances in terms of "that sucks, but it works so whatever". Lots of weird architecture decisions that I imagine don't exist anywhere else.

I watched through Ping Pong the animation with @nican.net and it was pretty fun. I originally found it through the music a while ago, and am now listening to it again :D

The first order of business was cleaning up telegram inbox and responding to people, oops. That's said, this helped dispel the urge that I must instantly respond to every message. Ping ponged between both unhealthy behaviors :D
