two 1st gen Americans scoffed at me for telling them to vote Harris. One said women were “too weak”. The other said he refused to vote cause “they were both the same”. And now as their communities and families are targeted, they ask me how it happened, how it could have been prevented. 😑

I just introduced my family to Jimothy. I was so gleeful. They are as well.

Perhaps unsurprisingly we are fans of Jimothy. An ode: You are no woodland prince. You are a damp alley philosopher, A dumpster poet, A patron saint of creatures who’ve had… a week. May your paws stay muddy May your heart stay curious And your trash always be gourmet. Goodnight everyone.

Dear Canada, I am so sorry our idiot-in-chief thinks you deliberately set your wildfires and allowed them to grow just to inconvenience us, and that he’s threatening to punish you even though you have tons of firefighters helping us fight our fires. Sincerely, A Completely Fed-Up American

The FDA won’t tell Americans where their generic drugs are made, so ProPublica did it instead. Use information from your prescription label to locate the factory and see if the plant has a history of inspection violations.

Your Mother’s Day weekend reminder that the so-called “party of family values” has historically blocked: -Paid family & medical leave -Universal childcare -Universal pre-K -Expanded Child Tax Credit -Programs to support reproductive health Doesn’t sound very pro-family to me.

Is there someone dead in the lobby or is there someone in custody? Was the person armed or not? Did he make it into the ballroom or not? Usually there should be a pretty wide grace period on finding this out, but there are literally hundreds of reporters in the room and nobody knows shit.

Time for a civics primer: 1. Impeachment/removal = House majority then 2/3 Senate 2. 25th = Cabinet 3. No POTUS = VP. No POTUS or VP = Speaker (and so on.) 4. Exec controls ALL fed law enforcement. 5. Court cases don't really end until SCOTUS decides or punts 6. THE GOP OWNS ALL OF THIS

The Supreme Court did not strike down conversion therapy bans today. Not nationwide. Not in Colorado. Not anywhere. Here's what actually happened in Chiles v. Salazar—and why the coverage you're seeing serves the conservative legal movement more than it serves you.

I know I've said this a trillion times but I have to say it periodically to keep from going insane: The right ran a huge, well-funded, & ultimately successful campaign to completely take over political media & the infosphere more generally. This is by far the most important political development...

I was forced to watch TV news when I had breakfast in a diner recently and I strongly resonated with the sentiment that being an intelligent person in America today is like being awake during a surgery.

So the feds ARE NOT considering an mRNA vaccine for the flu, which could save countless lives, but ARE backing research into whether horse dewormer can cure cancer, because the right views vaccines as elite and ivermectin as populist. Cool. kffhealthnews.org/news/article...
