I just think when some guy from YouTube ruins his own life by being a dipshit, I should get to continue not knowing who he is instead of hearing about him all the time!

If you post a job for a “principle engineer,” I wish you well, but I’m not interested in working for morons.

The trick of picking all remaining (green) tomatoes just before the first frost and storing them in a closed box to ripen? Working like a dream. They ripen up just fine. They probably aren’t as delicious as “midsummer ripe” tomatoes, but they are way better than the shit at the grocery right now.

And you need to keep them from crushing one another as they ripen/soften. I use internal cardboard baffles and “shelves” in the cardboard box to do this.

You do need to check on them at least weekly and move the ones that are starting to ripen to a different closed container (paper bag) to finish. And to toss any that are going bad for whatever reason.

Republican voters are such fucking rubes.

Everybody who knows anything about golf knows that the major championship “links style” courses routinely cut down all the trees as soon as they reach maturity. This is why there are no trees in Scotland.

The “presumption of regularity” should be abolished forever—not just for criminals like Blanche, but even for future AG Jack Smith. Equal justice is not compatible with giving the benefit of the doubt to either side unless they have earned it during the case in question.

Correct response by the Committee to Netanyahu nominating Trump. This is a wonderful, indefatigable worker against war.

Everybody calm down. I’ve been to Irkutsk. They’re all very bright people and definitely nothing could ever get out of hand. They got this.

Ooooh! Two MAGA morons overheard in the hall at work! MM1: I’m tired of my tax dollars going for these political ads. MM2: What are you talking about? MM1: Every other ad is about Trump pumping himself up. …and then they left my eavesdropping range.

Garlic is going into the ground later than usual this year because I jacked up my back, got super busy at work, and other candyass excuses. But I finished expanding the garlic bed today (3x the space) and will plant tomorrow. Should be fine. Garlic is the easiest fucking thing to grow. I love it.

91 garlic cloves planted, covered with a layer of homemade compost, and a layer of home-shredded leaves. Then surrounded with some random janky fence parts to discourage my idiot dog from stomping around in the precious soil.

Some of this year’s Carolina reaper harvest. They literally look scary—like the orange handle on a diner coffee carafe, nature’s way of saying, “Do not eat.” I grow these for fun. I can only use them by processing into “insanity pepper” flakes and adding micrograms to make soup spicy. #hotpepper

Yes, I know about wearing personal protective equipment when handling the business end of these things. I once tested a bit of raw pulp from one of these. It was the size of the period at the end of this sentence. I could still feel the residual effect on my tongue >12 hours later. Strong stuff.

🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

I saw a joke during the London Olympics. It was just Gollum saying “Mary Poppinses!” about the opening ceremony and it was hilarious and I think about it often, but my skill at searching the Internet isn’t what it used to be. Here’s hoping this fresh new hell revives the joke somewhere.

Finally, we're getting the darker and grittier version of Mary Poppins. I'd like to see you claim Hollywood is out of ideas now!

Gonna be behind on watching my silly formula cars this weekend and will stay off the Internet (oh no!) to avoid spoilers. But I wanted to drop in to say I used to find Alex Brundle hard to listen to (vocal fry). But I’m over that. He’s the only F1TV commentator who isn’t completely full of shit.

Also, Brundle is legit hilarious when he makes jokes. JPM isn’t bad. Alex Jacques doesn’t know how to say his own name, but isn’t terrible. The rest though? More informative and insightful on mute.

I see they’re sabotaging him this year by ensuring that the Teleprompter is working perfectly well.

I get what you're saying but I don't think Obama paperwork is the answer. Instead I expect the fight to be state by state with secy's of state refusing to put Trump on the Nov. ballot. Bolster them, against lawsuits (and arrests). Trump in the primaries might also scramble other GOP candidates.

The US already got a do over. A mulligan. A second chance. Much of the world, especially US allies, were ready to write off Trump’s first term as a fluke. The American people’s choice to put him back in power—as a convicted felon, after an openly bigoted, anti-democracy campaign—showed it was not.

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
