TIL France still knights people.

Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series, has been named a "Knight of Arts and Letters" by the French Ministry of Culture.

Wow. It's just like what happened with Dragon Quest III only this time the game's gonna suck.

Tech-News@technology-news.bsky.social

Video game and technology outlets estimate that the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, could cost the United States economy more than a billion dollars in lost productivity, due to the number of workers expected to skip work to play. The estimate has circulated withi..

It's not about "Paying their fair share", it's about ensuring they can't accrue enough power to subvert the democratic process. You can burn the money for all I care.

Does Trump even swim? Can he?

The New York Times@nytimes.com

President Trump has pushed to move briefings out of the White House press room. Aides say he wants an indoor swimming pool instead. nyti.ms/4eoW3AV

I get why they don't want this generation to last over a decade (they don't want people using the same console forever), but doing a hardware refresh NOW is just brand suicide at this point.

"Pokemon poaching" isn't a real crime. It's a form of regulatory capture. Think about it. The only "legal" way to capture Pokemon is using devices manufactured by a single corporation (Silph Co.). Only one party stands to benefit from this arrangement, and it ain't the Pokemon.

Why do I feel so lethargic and depressed? (Remembers the last time I tried cutting out sugar from my diet) Oh yeah...

7 years ago, this woman was claiming a negative depiction of her made by a Jew was "antisemitic".

As funny as the Sickos memes are, it is my solemn duty to inform everyone that, much like the No Fear/One Fear shirt meme, none of the memes are as funny as the meme's origin.

happy sickos day to all who celebrate

The vibe coded piece of shit software is preventing me from complaining about another company's vibe-coded piece of shit software. How ironic.

I guarantee you heard that Napoleon quote about an army marching on its stomach, and thought “That’s dumb. I’d have my army marching on its feet.”

Finally, a Star Wars game for Star Wars fans.

Jason Schreier@jasonschreier.bsky.social

NEW: Epic Games has delayed its upcoming (not yet announced) Star Wars + Marvel shooter as it pivots to complete AI game development. "No more hand-written code," a director told staff. All art "generated with full AI workflows." Full scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Christian Zionism makes a LOT more sense when you look at it as a tool of ethnically cleansing Jews from North America and Europe, as well as ethnically cleaning Palestinians.

Joel S.@joelhs.bsky.social

The discourse on antisemitism in the country is such that Mike Rogers can simultaneously attack Abdul El-Sayed *as* antisemitic, as a scary foreign Muslim critic of Israel, and also *with* antisemitism, as a tool of the foreign-born Jewish puppeteer.

“So it’s a corridor?” “In space.”

Dan Marshall@danthat.bsky.social

The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.

This is what needs to be emphasized. They don’t oppose healthcare. They oppose YOU having healthcare.

We're getting movies about how Iran orchestrated 9/11, Saddam was planning a nerve gas attack in the US, and the Chinese being responsible for Abu Ghraib, aren't we?

The Kotick news is so dire this part didn’t even register at first. We’re truly entering the Insult-to-Injury era of the American entertainment industry’s destruction.

Look, you can claim the Bolsheviks were bad for what they did to the Romanovs, but shit like this demonstrates for the practical reasons for it.

The strong showing by the opposition presidential candidate, along with conservative victories in parliamentary and governors' races, has emboldened calls for the release of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro. ft.trib.al/vRAXFYs

Today is October 3rd, which, as far as I understand it, the day the Mean Girls burned down their house so they could never go back.

Thread. But to expand on this, no one’s going to pay money to watch an AI movie in theaters for the same reason that no one goes to Carnegie Hall too listen to a player piano. The craft is part of the appeal, even if it results in flawed execution.

The Author, Séamas O'Reilly@seamas.bsky.social

Every time a discourse kicks off over whether AI music, literature or art will be "as good as" the real thing, I'm always amazed more people don't cite that **there already are** creative pursuits where human-free spectacles have been available for decades, and nobody has ever wanted to watch them.

Also, why does John look like he’s in his 20’s. The character was born in 1977, he should be pushing 50.

I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.
