The only Planned Parenthood in the UP closed in 2025. Medicare for All means access to medical care for all, in every corner of the country.

Talarico said it perfectly when talking to a catholic woman with strong pro life beliefs. Better health care, age appropriate sex ed & knowledge & accessibility to birth control let's them meet in the middle bc all those things will lower the unwanted pregnancy rate, hence, the abortion rate.

Geography shouldn't be a pre-existing condition. We've optimized delivery for 15-minute pizza, but we're still treating basic healthcare like a destination wedding.

Those direct conversations with your constituents make you the leader we need. No one sitting on a gold toilet while posting to social media can lead.

RN here, do we really have to call it Medicare for all though? How about healthcare insurance for all? Wording can make all the difference with how it is accepted & understood, don't you think?

Medicare for all is a great idea. I agree it’s desperately needed. However I still wonder how any of us, even collectively, will deal with the insurance industry fighting tooth and nail for its survival. Businesses shouldn’t be able to perform so their profits are guaranteed.

So grateful PP paid attention to all my healthcare needs when no one else gave a damn. 💜 HEALTHCARE FOR ALL! NO PlatinumGoldSilver or whatever levels. Same coverage, from birth to death. If we can waste $$$ on meaningless wars, we can afford it.💙

The government doesn’t belong in our physician’s office with us. Next they will want the government in our attorney’s office with us.

we gotta get full-coverage, free-at-point-of-service universal healthcare. sometimes 20 bucks is too much for the most impoverished in the US, I've seen people who wrapped their wound with duct tape because one trip to the doctor's office would have left them unable to afford basic living expenses

It’s not just Michigan , I live within 70 miles of 7 medical schools 3 ivys and spent my career in health care and I have insurance NO DOCTOR , NO APNP , no VETS( for animals ) and local hosp wants you to make ER APPOINTS ON INSTAGRAM . I have insurance PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE

As the granddaughter and great granddaughter of doctors, I have lived most of my adult life without access to basic healthcare because of our broken system and privatized for profit healthcare. Planned parenthood helps uninsured women get annual exams and mammogram referrals. VOTE BLUE

Abdul El-Sayed wants to change that for the better for the people of Michigan. His religion should have nothing to do with it. Be smart #Michigan. Vote smart. 🗳️🇺🇸

I'm reminded of the oncologist I knew who decided to retire early because he was tired of dealing with insurance companies. He said he spent 30% of day on the phone, defending his treatment decisions to people who didn't have a fraction of his expertise.

The services funded by aid and charity are neither comprehensive nor universal. Many of those interventions reduce risk to people globally including the USA. The spend is a drop in the ocean of domestic spend but it's used as political sledge hammer. Vote for those who fight for health care for all.

Ok,ok I took one for the team and went to downtown Port Huron where Trump and his corrupt maga ilk are having a rally today. Here’s my report ; it looked like a bunch of homeless people standing in a government cheese line! So I went to my voting station and voted a straight Blue ticket! 🇺🇸

It does know Yooper. The Doctors Rybacki taught at NMU for 38 years, very liberal Marquette. Beautiful country, nice people, much more diversity than the UP is given credit for. We adopted many middle class Iranians escaping in 1979. Students from Iran were desperate to save their families.

We have a cottage on Lake Gogebic up there. It's very red, and about 40 years behind, always was. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Absolutely beautiful though! 🌲🌲🌲

Met a former UP'er that moved down here recently. She was big-time maga and was shocked when she realized I wasn't. Very nice person but very drunk on the kool-aid.

I’m from the UK and really appreciate the NHS, tax payer funded, free at the point of use. I wish every country had this. You’d think those that were pro life would be happy for their tax payer dollars to fund life saving medical care for the humans they care so much about? If not why not?

We have it in Canada, 🇨🇦 ⚕️🩺🩻 we love our care for all: but USA will have to start small and then spread out to crack the insurance monsters out, won’t happen in 1 decision- START ! Maybe ; all kids to x age or ?

I have the answer....They are Pro-Birth. They don't give a shit about taking care of the children that are born. No healthcare, No food assistance, No housing assistance. #trumpepsteinfiles #IAmJaneDoe #removetheregime

They call themselves "pro-life" to cover up the fact that they're anti-women. It's all about controlling women & nonbinary people. Forced birthers are all about white supremacist cis-hetero patriarchy.

Medicare for all means NON PROFIT health coverage. It means no conflicted middleman coming between a doctor and their patient. It means Americans “self-insuring” so that we spend money on actual CARE - not CEO salaries and corporate jets and salespeople’s commissions for selling addictive drugs.

Insurance used to be “nonprofit “ until Nixon accepted Kaiser Permanente (insurance) as a different source for medical care claiming it would “bring health care costs down” Nixon declared. Now it’s a mishagas of greed, apathy, and betrayal of trust.

Yep. I’m old enough to remember. And remember, that it was Rahm Emanuel who dissuaded President Obama from working on a “public (not for profit) option.” Emanuel made a fortune during his time in the Obama administration. (Not a coincidence - he steered 30M new customers to insurance companies.)

Thank you for taking the time to consider matters of and spotlight the U.P. As a yooper, it’s really frustrating watching candidates ignore us and leave us behind. As a woman who has had to travel out of state for medical problems not accessible due to our rural-ness, this post means a lot!

When my grandpa fell and hit his head in Mohawk, he went to the local clinic in Calumet. They couldn't serve him, so they sent him to Marquette 2.5 hrs away. My dad, and my aunt, had to drive and use money for lodging. The health care disparity is very real.

War against women, so when they tell you they care about women don't you dare believe them. We need Universal Health Care.

Planned Parenthood was vulnerable because the controlling party destroyed the option of payment through different insurance plans including Medicaid. M4A needs to account for and prevent this kind of destruction or else PP will be even more vulnerable in the future.

I lived in the UP for 6 years. There were a lot of red hat type of “Christians” up there then. They were likely fine with PP closing.

This is your moment of moral choice. Are you going to vote? Is your family going to vote? Will you help all your friends and neighbors vote? This is YOUR moment of moral judgement

But that's going to take action! Get rid of all equity firms/CEOs stealing all the 💰 leaving nothing for actual care. Reopen all those rural hospitals. Take away productivities. Keep ill ppl in the hospital & keep them there till they're stable. So they're not back for the 3rd time or just dead!
