It's little surprise that more people are killed in Africa by hippos than any other wildlife. No, the cute lil' water cows don't want to be pet. They'd rather chase you down at a terrifying pace and crush you into a fine pulp of bone and pink goo. I'd rather try petting a leopard, NGL.

Hippos have almost no sexual dimorphism: females & males are almost indistinguishable. But a momma hippo uses her dental daggers to protect her calves, while the males use theirs more for dominance challenges. Oh, sure, it's CUTE when Fiona did it in 2020. *Today* there would be... funerals.
