I think Volkswagen already said they will increase price on USA market and are going to charge separate import fee. Just to make clear why the price is higher.

Even with cars it would be difficult because supply chains are so complicated. In addition to the straight up 25% on imports there is a lot of hidden costs on parts etc that are shipped back and forth across borders multiple times as they are assembled. These would be under represented.
