Folks, if you hate authoritarianism, you should be feeling good this morning. In Serbia, a student-led movement just ousted a longtime strongman, peacefully. And we Americans should be paying attention, because we have a chance in November to send a similar message. (link below)

Remember when Ted Cruz and other Republicans swooned over Russian military ads to mock Biden and our “woke” troops? An estimated 1.5 million Russian casualties later, Ukraine is still standing. Turns out cosplay tough isn’t real tough

Scott Presler is one of the GOP’s most famous election integrity guys. He spends all day reminding his followers to “report any suspicious activity.” The Bulwark did, and an election lawyer said it isn’t a close call. Remember this next time MAGA starts up the voter fraud nonsense. Link in reply.

In state election boards & county offices, GOP officials have been closing polling places and making it harder to vote. The bet is that enough people will get tired, give up, and stay home. But this month, a group of college students made it clear that their gamble will backfire. (link in comments)

Our foreign service is supposed to transcend admins. That's why we have career officials to maintain the continuity of American diplomacy regardless of who is in the White House. The State Dept's reported move to withhold promotions from applicants who didn't vote for Trump only makes us less safe.

Donald Trump hasn't even gotten to Election Day and his administration is already trying to stop a state from certifying a result. I don't want to jump to conclusions about where this ends. But this could be the beginning of the admin's effort to meddle in the midterms and we need to pay attention.

DHS agents took 12 minutes to decide if you're a citizen. A federal judge just shut that down. Now they can't interview anyone they know or should suspect is a citizen. The point was never fraud. It was fear, and to make you afraid to vote ahead of a midterms that Trump knows he's going to lose.

On Thursday, Alex Horton and Dan Lamothe of The Washington Post reported that a team dispatched by Hegseth’s office tried to move a historic globe out of an Army office and into his own. They broke it, and it's a perfect a metaphor for how they've responded to global affairs. Link below.

This is what Vance does. When something is too ugly to defend, he attacks the people who are upset about it. He threw away his conscience to join this administration, and now he wants you to do the same. Full story covered in today's show, link in comments below.

Flattering Putin has been this administration's strategy for two years now. Peace is always "one more meeting away" but it never comes. I hope I’m wrong. But as long as we’re calling Putin a humanitarian, I don’t have high hopes. Thanks, Steve Witkoff…Full story up on today's show, link in comments

Trump doesn’t think Ukrainians should decide their own future. He thinks Putin should. It’s a disgrace, and it's a familiar refrain that Trump cares more about Putin’s approval than Ukrainian lives.

Many aircrews in Iran theater just got extended to April 2027. This will be over a year deployment. The damage to retention, and families, will be massive. Especially in the Guard and Reserves. This is not due to the war. It’s due to awful planning by Hegseth

Amy Acton is running against former GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy for governor of Ohio. She knew when she decided to run that the attack ads were inevitable. But what happened yesterday was beyond the pale. Link in comments.

Well the Georgian Dream at least isn’t pretending to not be a Russian puppet anymorr

JUST IN: In parallel to proceeding with bans on democratic parties in Georgia, the Georgian Dream seems to have established a one-on-one dialogue with Russia that excludes any involvement from the West, which was the case at the Geneva International Discussions. 1/

The agency built to protect the vote got gutted by DOGE, and the Trump admin asked what was left to hack a voting machine. In secret. Imagine if this came out about Joe Biden. Trump would call it one of the greatest crimes in American history. Full story covered in today's show, link in comments ⬇️

Trump’s own appointees asked the government’s election security agency to secretly hack a voting machine and send the results to the White House. Thankfully, the career staff refused. And the people who actually could have done it had been laid off by DOGE. open.substack.com/pub/adamkinz...

The far right loved calling some Republicans “cucks”— being that they’d sit back and watch the country get screwed Then they made loyalty to Trump their entire identity He does exactly what they claimed to despise. They put a red hat on it and called it strength.. while our nation gets f’ed

JD Vance has no shame, we know that, but he stooped to a new low when he claimed he's not seen any corruption out of this White House. In doing so, he's gaslighting Americans into thinking they're not seeing it either. Trust your eyes, the corruption is as clear as day. (link in comments)

Everyone in the Republican Party is pointing fingers at each other for the GOP’s impending midterm disaster, except in the direction of the main culprit. Nobody is looking at the leader of the party, or at themselves. (link in comments below)

Happy Sunday, everyone. Are you ready for some good news? Afghans who served beside American troops across twenty years were promised that if they stood with us, we would stand with them. Washington is breaking that word, but Americans keep picking it up. Full story at link in comments.

Imagine if, four years after invading Iraq, we controlled only 20% of it and had suffered 1.3 million casualties. Would anyone call that “winning”? Of course not. But when it’s Russia, we’re supposed to believe Putin holds all the cards.

“They can’t erase history.” The administration pardoned the rioters, fired the prosecutors, and scrubbed the website. But the facts are still there. Tom Joscelyn's "January 6 Memory Project" is making sure of it, and the link to it is in the comment below.
