It is SO bad. It feels like all grammar checkers are getting actively worse these days while trying to do more.

Yeah, Word might not be as bad but it's also not as good as it used to be and suggests a lot of false corrections.

I remember a time when we all had to learn grammar and use it correctly all by ourselves.

I don't know if this counts, but it always corrects when I write "all right" to "alright" even though my version is the first and most correct version. I don't have any problem with people writing "alright", I find that acceptable--I just think it's SUPER weird to try and force that spelling.
