Has a *single* tech media outlet covered his outrageous echoing of the exact same rhetoric as the Nazis about the same ethnic group that the Nazis targeted? Have we gone that far, that fast, that calls for ethnic cleansing by big names aren't even newsworthy anymore?

I wasn't sure what you were talking about so I looked it up and was disgusted. It's a month old and I missed it. I'm not in DHH's immediate community but certainly adjacent! The Hacker News bros didn't want to touch it.

He even used the most common slur for that community when going after them. I have to wonder which other communities he could have slurred when calling for them to be rounded up and killed, and still have raised millions of dollars so easily.

Hadn’t read it, have now. Not a lawyer but I’m sure that his “solution” of deporting EU citizens not officially charged with any crime to their countries of origin would contradict any number of laws.

On a side note, while the wolf has been all over the front page in Danish news this year, with the debate being extremely loud and polarized, I don’t recall having read *any* mention of any Roma issue in Copenhagen. It may be mostly imaginary for all that I know.

Yep. It actually does surprise me. I think if one did a search and replace and tried the same post with another ethnic group and another slur, you might be able to get a news story out of it. But.

The other thing is, it’s not like this is a something exciting, technically; it’s DHH’s dot files on top of Arch. It’s interesting only insofar as it’s a project of the personalities involved. So, please talk about the (rancid) personalities, not the “announcements” of a bag of nothing.
