the zine is pretty much complete and I'm now onto the shopping around for printers stage and I still have no clue what a realistic number of copies to order would be

I’ve also seen a lot of people do preorders for projects that are bigger than their usual stuff, yet smaller than what might warrant a kickstarter! can help give better peace of mind for a ballpark. (you’ll probably want a Proof/sample anyway, for a run over 20 imo)

that would be the smart way to go, I just get intensely uncomfortable accepting money for something I don't already have availabile, which is probably a little irrational idk

thats fair! tbh i’ve always just made estimate first runs too (and they’re always too big or too small) and it’s not a big deal either way lol. just need a place to store extras or need to immediately order another run

yeah that's pretty much how I figure it's gonna go. continuing my mom's legacy of living with boxes and boxes of, in her case, unsold CDs

Judging from sticker sales, there'd likely be a lot of interest from europeans but even the cheapest international shipping on a book this size is probably gonna be like $15 unless I'm missing something

Hi, random European here (this post showed up on my FYP, sorry if this is weird). A zine I was involved in lasy year used blurb.com. They print on demand and also have a European printer. I have no idea about their prices/how easy they are to navigate but might be a solution to shipping costs.
