Goldberg: "Hegseth is promising that US warplanes are taking off in 30 minutes to bomb enemy targets that we know are protected by anti-aircraft batteries. If that's not the most sensitive information, the most secret info in the world, I simply don't know what the meaning of 'classified' is."

It seems obvious that Heggy doesn’t know what classified means! Maybe he was hungover from a late night bender. He wants everyone to know that he’s very important having control of this important information. Not classified according to him but it sure is for the pilots whose lives he put in danger.

Heggy seems so impressed with himself that he has this need to share how important he is. It’s like a little teenager talking about how much money he’s got by the fancy car he drives. He seems to forget that his Dad owns the car. But boy look what he knows, that’s how important he is.

Let me answer the Muskrat's question.... What an evil thing to do, flailing on stage with a chainsaw threatening and then dismantling our government as a non-elected demon! 👿 What a creep and jerk "YOU" are! And a few other choice words that I won't mention! 🤬 STOP the gaslighting! We're not fools!

I’d hate to be in their position tbh. I feel like whatever their personal thoughts on the matter, being called on to publicly criticize the top brass would lead to serious retaliation. They would be ending their own careers by testifying. Not an easy choice to make.

It's not a secret anymore. They are children being bullies. The TV personalities are just flexing and saying, "Look at me, I'm tough". Rounding up innocent people and making them disappear is a precursor to attacking people who speak out against them and ALL republicans are at fault

Oh, Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. You're going on the assumption that this administration of fools actually gives two toots about national security. The sooner you accept the fact that they're out to ruin the country while inflicting as much pain as possible, the better equipped you'll be to deal with it.

If Goldberg hadn't received those texts and some adversary government, "Russia, China or even Iran" and gave that intelligence to the Houthis, and they were waiting for the American pilots it would have been a catastrophe with multiple casualties, it would all have been kept secret about the texts.

I suppose there are some magas who are gaslit by this absurd take but everyone else knows that announcing specific times and places that warplanes are going is or should be top secret. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My question: will they even have learned anything from this? If anything, this administration’s attitude is to double down whenever challenged. So these guys are probably right back where they started (just using a different app, MAYBE).

I'm going to throw it out there, Hegsdeath is a buffoon but the National Guard is being tarnished by this shit too.. Really? THIS is the OPSEC you train your troops on? This is the product of your boot camp? It's so cringe & I'm embarrassed for them #WhiskeyLeaks

I can not imagine a service member that would lift a finger for these people. Btw, “I was just following orders is not an acceptable defense at the Hague. It did not work for Hitler’s minions and to will not work for trump’s. They swore an oath to protect the constitution. “Domestic” part here

Clearly, Hegseth doesn't grasp the concept of classified/sensitive information...other than the amount of alcohol he consumes in a 24-hour period.

It doesn't even matter if the information has been "officially" classified or not; the point is that putting that information out there is irresponsible and dangerous. Anyone who deems it OK for public dissemination is a fucking moron and should be fired as much as the idiot that distributed it.

Won't be Trump starting WWIII, w/b the likes of Hegseth, Miller, Gabbard, Lutnick, etc., taking action w/o direct order but on what they think they heard Trump say. In the Signal chat to green-light the Yemen attack, Stephen Miller said. “As I heard it”. Trump says a lot "I haven't heard about that"

So he's carelessly bragging, giving the targets some time to prepare for the attack, increasing the potential of shooting down US pilots & planes. This is why I say it isn't as much about being unfit & unqualified, as it is about horrible character. The entire bunch is really shoddy character.

😮‍💨 🪖 Pete Hegseth shared 🎯 classified details on 📱 Signal instead of 🔐 HighSide or other secure platforms, he likely violated the 📝 Espionage Act (18 U.S. Code § 793(f)). 🤦‍♂️ Even if encrypted, using an unapproved system shows ⚠️ gross negligence, triggering legal liability 🕵️‍♂️ #LockHimUp #ThrowAwayTheKey

Yeah. Maybe "classified" requires deliberately deciding to do so, rather than sensitive things automatically be classified by their nature. If it was not classified because they did not classify it, or consider it worth classifying, that possibly makes the whole thing even worse.

Imagine the Allies telling the French Resistance the invasion at Normandy was commencing in 20 minutes. Instead, they only heard “John has a long mustache”.

You're focusing on the bad behavior of the dog. Others are noticing that a proposal to commit a WAR CRIME was submitted, turned into a full fleged plan by the American military's normal planners, discussed to literally the highest level, approved, and implemented WITHOUT OBJECTION That's the scandal

I couldn't get it to play here so I went to YouTube and watched the whole thing. He also says that "VP said something about Trump not understanding." So I wonder if Trump is smart enough to figure that out? It is astonishing.

In all fairness, you simply can't utter a word and have it classified in real time. This is not about whether the info was classified, it's about national defense information. The trump administration knows that most people don't know the difference.

The meaning of "classified" seems to vary considerably depending on the level of idiocy you're trying to conceal. Hedgehog idiocy is top of the scale. Think of it all as being a bit like dynamic pricing.

Stop asking Hegseth et al if it was classified. Start asking serving members of the US military if they think it was fine to release and how they feel about him using Telegram and lying about it while expecting them to maintain the highest standards of OpSec. Leadership FAIL!!!

And here it is. Succinct and pointed. bsky.app/profile/vict...

Wow. Rep. Jake Auchincloss minces no words about Signalgate on Piers Morgan: “Pete Hegseth is lying to the American people, lying to Congress, lying to the military.” “It’s incompetence incarnate…It’s embarrassing & it’s dangerous.” This is how it’s done.

Internally they will all know in their heads and say to one another it was a massive fail and fuck-up. However, they cannot admit it to media, because that looks like criticism of the current administration. Which they don't tolerate. They could lose their jobs for being too honest.

don’t stop on this one. Hammer those incompetent dangerous motherfuckers every single day until they are no longer in a position to endanger american military lives. every fucking one of them. especially DIA director Lt Gen Kruse, who couldn’t ID either of the Houthi anti-aircraft missile systems

You don't have to be an intelligence expert or a fighter pilot to understand that details about an air strike that's about to take place are as highly classified as it gets. Hegseth should be gone. But Trump and MAGA Republicans always put their own personal interests over those of the country.

So does trumps daddy vladdy. “I don’t even know what signal is! It’s all the fake news talks about, and not about how hard we hit Yemen, fake news from a failing reporter; it’s a hoax. Not firing anyone.” #lockthemup #ButHisSignals #OpSecDUI #Treason #resist #WhiskyLeaks #LiarPredator #IsIt2028Yet

The Republican response "the mission was a success, nothing bad happened" Hmm, nothing bad 1.Israeli source exposed, best case scenario, he loses his job, worst case, his life 2. 1 Bad guy killed; 86 innocent civilians killed 3. 5 I's et al. reluctant to share intelligence 4. Exposes incompetence

Since PINO kept War Plans, Nuclear Info, and reams of other Top Secret NOFORN stuff in his ballroom/bathroom/bedroom/unlocked storage areas, it is Obvious PINO doesn't KNOW the meaning of "Classified" either! 🤔

This is a ridiculous conversation to keep having. And it gives credence to the claim that it’s not classified. Just call it for the gaslighting bullshit that it is and move on.

₱Ɇ₮Ɇ ₱ⱤØ₥ł₴ɆĐ to stop drinking on day one if appointed' It takes years to unscramble an alcoholics brain & even then it will never be close to 100%. Supremely unqualified for his current position.

Oh yes chump said there is no problem, no accountability will be held. I get the feeling chump made a deal w/Putin to destroy this country & he will sneak out & go live in Russia & I can't seem to shake it. It just seems too easy & too real. It just doesn't smell right.🤔

This man needs our support he’s courageous for coming forward and letting the American people know we are in deep kimchi. This could still turn out so much worse because our enemies now know we are defencelessness with idiots running our Government. Places a target on our backs.

Jeffrey Goldberg is a heroic champion of free speech and democracy! He possesses more bravery and integrity than any sitting member of the GOP. Protect him at all costs! Godspeed Mr. Goldberg.

The press can keep hammering on about this, it doesn’t matter, the law is very clear, the information was absolutely classified, and it should have NEVER been taken out of closed secured rooms, let alone brought to a non-military-affiliated app owned by a private company. It was very illegal…

…whether or not the justice system will hold these dangerous traitors accountable for their felonies depends on the pile of corrupt judges Trump bought and installed. There is no question, this was irresponsible and illegal. It endangered US lives. The question is will the DOJ hold them accountable?
