Bessent: "When President Trump says our allies should join us in a coalition along the Strait of Hormuz, they're the ones who need this oil. The US, we're an oil exporter."

WHERE IS CONGRESS? Trump is waging an illegal war in Iran, and Americans are dying. Article I belongs to the People, not the President. Email, Fax or USPS Congress to demand an end to the strikes & immediate accountability: resist.bot/petitions/PA... 🚨🇺🇸 #WarPowers #NoWarWithIran #Impeach

Psst, Bessent. Who started this war? Clue: Apart from Israel and the USA, no other country has bombed Iran in the last few weeks. Own it! It’s called accountability. We know the GOP doesn't do accountability, but this war belongs to Israel and US. Enjoy!

Bessent throws the US oil industry under the bus, admitting that they are gouging the American people during “excursion time.” Big oil could continue to export their pre-excursion volume at market prices AND maintain US gas prices, but instead jacked up prices on gas already in distribution.

Honestly, I hear this a lot but it glosses over how global oil prices work. Even as an exporter, if the Strait closes, US prices spike too. We’re not insulated just because we pump more now.

So we are spending billions of dollars and taking losses all for other countries? Not very "American First." These are the same people that complain about Biden sending aid to Ukraine No, I know the reason behind Op Epstein Fury- it's control

Good thing all those boats that bring us all the things we don’t make or grow in this country don’t run on oil. Oh wait, I have been told they do in fact need that oil that comes through the Strait.

These economic geniuses apparently don't understand markets. When the price of oil goes up, it goes up for everyone regardless of the geographical source. Or are they going to force US oil producers to sell at less than market value?

Look at the US oil imports during Trump and Biden’s terms. Ask yourself: Why would the US import something they don’t need? Shale boom was under OBAMA. Trump made a big mistake by attacking #Iran. He taught it’d be as easy as Venezuela. Now Americans and the entire world id paying for his mess

Sorry I have to swear, but is this fucking liar saying that US oil producers will not raise prices when the global oil price rises because of this disaster? Is he actually claiming US oil companies will keep costs lower for US consumers out of patriotism?

How terrible does a money person have be to lose billions in a hedge fund? As terrible as IQ47 running a business. In 2017, Bessent began a fund w/ Key Square Group with $4.5B. With him at its helm, it nosedived the 1st yr losing 90% of its capital, down to $577M. He also loses $ on real estate.

Gee Scott, and Maria for that matter; if the US is a net exporter of oil, why then do we now see $3.89/gallon at the pumps, where we saw $2.79 about three weeks ago? Free tip: worldwide, interdependent economies. Every TV appearance this guy does is a gaslighting seminar.

Can you tell me one person in trump's cabinet or staff that has a true understanding of ANYTHING? Markets? Healthcare? Education? the Constitution? History? Human beings? Infrastructure? Morality? TRUTH?

Yeah, it was rhetorical. You are right about subservience being the alpha and omega at this time, but I don't think it has always been as blatant as it is right now. If it was, we never would have even thought of Civil Rights, the ACA, or education for everyone. Remember those wonderful ideas?

You said yourself that he "doesn't understand global markets". As US Sec of Treasury...it's kind of his job to understand those things. That, in effect, makes him a moron and buffoon. It's akin to the Energy Secretary not being aware that he's responsible for nukes 🤦‍♂️ They're malicious, but idiots

Dude. I haven't had coffee yet. So yea, that is on me looking at bluesky before coffee. There will be a day when creepily smooth faced liars like Bessent will be gone. The sun will shine on us again, brother.

Because Trump is a failure at everything he has attempted at life! How hard is it to figure out? He thought that Americans would rally to his side and that our allies would be thrilled to go to war…ETTD he is a complete moron and the military guys like nothing more than a war

Trump started it with Netanyahu. Trump's likely in his Mar-a-Lago lovely estate why should other countries spare their lads to help in a war led by American extreme Republicans who put him in power. He's messing up global trade & blocking Europeans booking flights & holidays while kids sadly perish

Nah, The US started this war and well just establish more renewable energy and buy more electric cars from European, Chinese and south Korean manufacturers.

Britain was IN talks in Geneva where Iran had promised to hand over all enriched uranium. They found the offer credible, talks were to continue HOURS later the USA bombed an Iranian girls' school Sanction the fruck out of the USA to force their retreat and surrender from this illegal war Israel too

So why have domestic gasoline and diesel fuel prices risen? Bissent is strongly implying shortages & skyrocketing prices will only affect countries other than the US. No impact on US, not a big deal, at all?

So help me understand. If we have enough oil, and are a net exporter, why are our gas prices shhoting up? We should not be vulnerable to the fluctuations in the market. Are we being gouged?

I read that most of the US refining capacity is tuned to the heavy crude from the Middle East and not our domestic sweet crude, which we export. That is why domestic energy prices are rising. He knows it, but chooses to lie about it.

Their driving America off a cliff and grasping for anything. Whatever hegemony the US had, it's done. No one is coming for a farcical regime that shit on everybody and unilaterally decided on a stupid military 'excursion.' Even exporters pay the global rate for oil you dumb bastards.
