In South Texas 2 Social Security offices have been closed in rural towns which means that the residences of those counties will have to make long trips to the "big cities" -- i.e. San Antonio, Houston.

This is crazy. I applied on the phone and whoever it was at SocSec was just remarkable, kind and guided me through the process perfectly. That goes away in this shit storm because people were upset with eggs and foreigners. Neither of which is being handled well either.

I work with low income seniors in the rural South. Many have no car, some can't read, others have no idea how to use the Internet.

Well, well, it’s all red states. I will gladly help a needy senior navigate the web application process. It worked fine for me. Better yet, why don’t some of the good people in their own communities help these seniors? The application process is easy for someone with internet & a laptop.

Visiting a SS with a senior is no picnic even before the cuts Parking is not always near even with an apportionment you wait hours on hard chairs no food once you get to see a case worker they are overwhelmed It’s an all day thing I had to take the day off when taking my mom many can’t afford this
