Trump is like the sports team owner who keeps hiring managers who have recently been fired for leading their team to the bottom of the standings. They may be lousy managers but at least they’ll never talk back to the owner.

Sorry, I know we can't control our appearances but this guy looks like a mugshot for someone arrested after shooting a guard dog and trying to steal an ATM machine.

Trump removed Carla Hayden, a professional librarian with a PhD in library science, and put in a Trump loving attorney as acting Librarian of Congress. Talk about a downgrade. What are they thinking?

Since the post requires Senate OK, “Acting” will avoid that? Since they also fired the Patent Office Register (because she refused to allow Musk’s AI to scrape all the patent info), does that mean the “Acting Librarian of Congress” can also appoint an “acting” Register so Elon can get what he wants?

@rollingstone.com "This is going in the inviolate congressional space to access their information," the expert says. "We know that when Trump and the DOGE people have gone elsewhere, the first thing done is they exfiltrated their data." www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol... #LibraryOfCongress

rollingstone.comTrump Is Trying to Take Control of Congress Through Its LibraryDonald Trump’s administration is pushing to take over the Library of Congress, its latest effort to subsume the legislative branch.

What Trump is trying to do at the Library of Congress is ILLEGAL! It's part of the Legislative Branch! Trump can't just install whomever he wants from the Executive Branch into the Legislative Branch.

The Library of Congress is part of the Legislative Branch. This can't be legal for Trump to install someone from the Executive Branch into this position. How long will spineless Republicans remain silent?

Trump can't appoint someone from the Executive Branch as an acting director for a Legislative Branch position. You can't have an Executive Branch person in the Legislative Branch at the same time. It's illegal.

I don't understand this (and Pam Bondi to some extent) is why would he do this? The salary is $200k give or take. It's peanuts for this guy. Why is he taking a huge pay cut? Bondi was getting $150k a month to lobby for Qatar and now is getting $250k a year. Why? What's the angle?

“Former Attorney General” sells a lot more books, gets higher speaking fees, higher lobbying fees, and a better chance at a multimillion dollar actual contract to host a show on Fox News.

Autocrats cannot trust just anyone, so they’ll stick to family (provided they’re not completely useless) and associates, whether they’re competent or not. They can lose his case in court but as long as they’re successful in delaying it so it eventually gets dropped, that’s passable to him.

>> Boy, you want to be up at the front of the line when the capo di tutti capi hands out the spoils. This guy is [arguably] an attorney. He was probably hoping for a high-ranking position in the DOJ; but instead, he gets to spend more time in the library... <<

Another grifter with no experience, no credentials, and no clue how to run a government department that he has no idea where it's located or what it does. Nice seeing Trump implementing the new Republiscum DEI programs of supporting the ignorant and unqualified to get jobs in government.

The "he" part matters too. Just ask Vice Adml. Shoshana Chatfield, Adm. Lisa Franchetti, Lt. Gen. Jennifer Short, or Adm. Linda Lee Fagan for starters. Strong women terrify him.
