If you live in Illinois 16, vote for someone who will actually do something for you instead of Darin 'where's waldo' LaHood. VOTE PAUL NOLLEY @nolleyforcongress.bsky.social

Well, the clocks have gone back. It's darker, it's cold, the weather is miserable. Time to activate hibernation mode, dig out the soft, warm sweaters, woolly socks, snuggly blankets, books, cake, hot chocolate and SAD lamp. Will be accepting invitations come March. Blanket fort going up.

Breaking news: censorship isn't just for banned books anymore. My musical Between the Lines was cancelled due to the comments of a single parent.

Not to be THAT dictionary, but… It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’ It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’ It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’ It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’ It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'

Morning folks! Have a great Wednesday 🌞

As always, never give YOUR information to websites you don't know and trust. ... BUUUUUT, this would be a great time for Seymour Butz and all of his friends to put themselves into the database (from a library computer, or at least using a VPN, of course.)

Another hit from @ellecordova.bsky.social on IG 🧟🎃😱 (Not sure she still uses B'sky...)

Night of the Living Dead (1968) Directed by George A. Romero starring Duane Jones, Judith O'Dea and Karl Hardman.

Censorship is so 1984. Read for your rights. Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, and this year's theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights. https://www.ala.org/bbooks.

Trump is following almost to the letter Hitlers path to power. Sending the SS into Democratic neighborhoods to start violence and then blaming it on Democrats is classic Weimar Republic Germany. Now he wants to start jailing opposition leaders. news.yahoo.com/articles/tru...

🚨 SAVE THE DATE: OCTOBER 18. Millions of Americans took to the streets in June to drown out Trump’s birthday parade. As Trump’s regime escalates his authoritarian power grab, we’re gathering again on 10/18 for a nationwide day of peaceful protests to say NO KINGS: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...

Trump and Dr. Oz want AI to decide which Medicare patients get care—and they're giving AI companies a profit-incentive to deny coverage. Everything about this is sick and wrong. Tell Congress to intervene NOW:

Trump deported hundreds of Venezuelans to a Salvadoran megaprison earlier this year. On Friday, they were quietly swapped for 10 Americans jailed by Maduro. The same men the U.S. claimed it couldn’t bring back are now part of a deal brokered behind closed doors.

They are burning food that was supposed to go to starving people, they are closing the Dept of Education, they fired people at NOAA, Social Security is a mess...explain to me why we are still paying Federal taxes.

There are elections tomorrow and it’s more than just AZ. There is a STATEWIDE election in GA with a really bad candidate in a runoff. There is an election in Ward 8 for DC city Council, which is basically their only representation. And then there are elections in FL and SC as well. 1/2

On Thursday, we’re honoring Congressman John Lewis by taking to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all. Join a Good Trouble Lives On event near you to march in peace and act in power.

On a call with @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social just said “people are going to die, this is a crime scene” No better way to describe this bill imo. It really is that simple.

We are at the end of the line, we have now gotten the okay to call republicans even if they arent in your district. But start with your own state. @frost.house.gov also said that what could be even more powerful than calling is sending faxes because they might unplug their phone line, 1/2

“We’ve got about 26 Republican targets. We need four of them. This is not a done deal.“ @ezralevin.bsky.social highly encourages you to stop doomscrolling and start contacting your representative. We can still defeat Trump’s Tax Scam and save Medicaid and SNAP: indivisible.org/resource/cal...

Is it too soon to begin discussing all the members of the Trump regime who should be held criminally liable once the Republicans have been removed from power?

Oh.

🚨UPDATE: New evidence filed by the ACLU last night shows that the Trump administration is going forward with more Alien Enemies Act deportations in seeming violation of the Supreme Court's clear command that people be provided a "meaningful" opportunity to seek judicial review.

Every time.

"There is a reason totalitarian states so often ban singing and dancing and it is the same reason those communal habits have died out in the US. Bringing them back is resistance. Being optimistic and happy is resistance. Reaching out and connecting with each other is resistance."

Federal judges have the power to ensure compliance with their court orders — if they have the courage to exercise it, @david.noll.org writes. Learn more here.

I do want to say, if you didn't get to go out and march or protest for whatever reason, I hope you feel this energy that grew across the country, and I hope it rejuvenates you. You are part of this fight. ❤️

I know this is really getting serious when my sister, who has never protested anything in her 65 years, protested in Orleans, MA today! I am so proud of her!!!

He’s tanking the economy, destroying our standing in the world, depriving women and LGBTQ communities of their fundamental rights, attacking the environment, disappearing legal immigrants, gutting Veteran’s benefits and Social Security. And he’s making you pay for his golf trips while he’s at it.

Happy 26th Anniversary @maddow.msnbc.com and Susan!!! Wishing you many, many more!!

Again.
