We got a DM the other day with a fun request from a local family: Could we find this nice BART train operator who always waved and beeped at this special little rider? And if we found him, could we deliver him a thank you card!?  So we got to work …

Mr. Rohman Alexander: This got me in the feels all the way from BART to Phoenix, AZ 🌵. Thank you, kind sir, for bringing joy to children and parents. You are good people and you deserve your own #BARTbeep ♥️♥️♥️ @bart.gov

We asked our friends in transportation if they could help us track down the mystery train operator. After looking at a few screenshots, train numbers, timestamps and schedules, we figured out it was Rohman! Which tracks, he is the nicest guy.

We picked up the card, recorded a video for Rohman and surprised him before his shift started last week. It was a great time. This Wednesday is Transit Employee Appreciation Day, and BART invites the public to join us in sharing gratitude for transit employees.

If you’re traveling on BART or another public transit system, take a moment to say “thanks” to the employees you see.   #TransitEmployeeAppreciationDay #JustGottaGiveThemWithThatBARTBeep

When she laughts and claps when the train goes by...that is the best thing I have seen all year. She is adorable! (and also maybe a future railfan!!) And the engineer is a great person too!!! Just a wonderful video everyone needs to watch that will cheer them up!!!
