Technologists, journalists, celebrities / personalities, organizations, etc. should all spend 30 minutes creating a recovery key to put into 1password. I don't think that I can recommend doing this enough. This is up there with enabling advanced-protection for your devices and accounts.

made some updates to 'goat', and wrote up a guide to registering a recovery key for a DID PLC, which gives better independent ownership of network identity. this is a *bit* more accessible that previously, but still oriented towards devs and power users. one small step, etc, etc

gotta make it doable in-app before this happens — aint no way they’re gonna use a command line

yeah i'd put it at around 97% of all those people wouldn't do it -- minus the technologists group i guess

I’m just turning this thought over. Do we think that no people ever can evolve their understanding of the production and interaction with software? Even downloading goat is trust. I think CLI is a red herring. An app that wraps goat? A single HTML file with inline JS? Pondering…

Yeah goat is trust. Everything is trust. Trust is impossible to eliminate from the equation due to the interconnectedness of everything. Most of what we perceive as “trustless” is just trust that has been abstracted to the point of imperceptibility.
