I don't understand how this gets shipped. Have the people designing this never actually paid for anything using Apple Pay?!?!?!?

It changed a while back to push the buy now pay later crap. I see it as a form of advertising baked into the os, sadly becoming more and more common as service revenue growth becomes the focus.

That’s how it is on the Mac! Making it different on their two OSs is extra bad.

hrrrmm... I'm not so sure the average norm or boomer would think to tap on the Apple Card line to know they can change their card on the next screen... although I suppose the Google Pay version is pretty close to what you're suggesting. The arrow counts for a lot imo!

Textbook dark pattern. Interface trains you to do a thing to get what you want and then, later, replaces that thing with what they want instead. I'd bet money this will never change because Apple wants you to use their card.

I’m relieved noticing I’m not the only person correctly using the multiplication sign (×) for “times”, not “x” even in casual writing. So, dear Apple, please also fix this; make replacing “x” behind a number with “×” the default (as a rule in System Settings’ text replacement options, of course).
