I tend to shy away from politics, religion and the usual online dogwhistles & ragebait (lifes too short) so I was on here to avoid that nonsense as best as I could but still interact with people. Totally get that and understand the question and where you're coming from. I only follow a few people on here (artists, writers, movies mainly) but in the past week a few I follow have gone into twitter screencap frenzy. It just reached critical mass today I wasn't stalking discover to get angry

If this platform is to gain a foothold, it needs to become its own thing. It makes sense that people are mentioning Twitter but there needs to be a point where we take the stabilisers off if we want it to become a viable alternative.

I'm in the UK too and I get the schadenfreude train wreck curiosity factor. But that doesn't mean everyone else needs to see that. I left that shithole site, let them sit in their swamp and play with shit. Its not something I care to see or be reminded of.

I left Twitter as soon as Musk bought it. Now, I also have very little social media presence, so it's not like I was giving up an income stream. But still...nobody wants to hear about your e(X)

I left twitter in March, and joined here, after hearing the positive reports. Perhaps, that’s what helped, having a break between the two SM platforms. I’m not interested in who is saying what on twitter.
