These are standard ML tools we’ve been seeing for years and if they are using gpu and npu cores on device they are actually the ideal way to implement probabilistic modeling into a feature We must stay aware of how companies still are gonna name things in a way stock goes up without being “slop”

If you’re in STEM and you’re eligible to vote in the midterms…YOU BETTER BE VOTING. I want “I VOTED” sticker selfies in the comments. This is an unconstitutional robbery of our scientific ecosystem cen.acs.org/policy/resea...

if you were still on a Meta platform, don't.
you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment. www.nber.org/papers/w35854

🚨 BEWARE of VoteSafe.org 🚨 While it bills itself as a “safe” way to register to vote, it is actually a digital surveillance machine created by Elon Musk’s super PAC.

yes i dont believe our limits in the physical world are an opposing force against pure creation, they ARE pure creation. if your dream song is performed it in a way that is not 'perfectly' in sync with that dream, then the most honest and beautiful version is the 'wrong' performance, not the dream

hi all! this is really difficult for me to talk about, but the store is in danger of closing before the end of the year. you can read more about what happened here: www.mayakern.com/blog i'm at a point where i need to ask for help. 👇
I think any like two of these details would be fine and look cool. But this is Too Many Things and they all visually conflict with each other. I need to go do some Link cosplay in Nikki, I guess, which understands when to show restraint. And to not put leather on leather.
my meanest take is that you have to stop fucking doing this to perfectly good designs

I've been thinking about this at times lately, too. If I was content with an idea being only for me, then there is no reason to create it, because it's already in my head in its ideal form. The entire point of getting it out of there is so it can mean something to other people.

Sometimes we come across a story so compelling that we just want to shout READ THIS at everyone nearby. "Silence, in the Doorway, With the Gun" by Nadia Radovich is one of those stories. Read this!

My story about knitting and hope is out in the world! I wrote this in a moment of frustration and feeling powerless, and it was my way of staring my despair in the face and saying "No." I hope it's a reminder that creating, resisting, connecting, they may feel like small acts, but they mean so much.
Making something, anything, is an act of defiance. Today we offer you "Ragescarf: A Knitting Pattern for a World Unraveling" by Amanda Saville Try it out. When things are coming apart, knitting things together can feel so satisfying...

I'm delighted Small Wonders gave a home to my story about carving out little areas of joy and connection in a post-climate apocalypse world. I wrote this at a time I needed a reminder to look for light in the darkness.
Our story today by Ian Li is a reminder that when you don't have a garden, you can make one:
