They did it then, too. When they outlawed smoking in bars in Indiana they whined about it. I even wrote a letter to the editor mocking them!

Problem is the politicians *are themselves* cranks now, so they look after their people. We've had a perpetual race to the bottom for 20 yrs because it doesn't matter who's in office, their sole job is to take checks from billionaires and corps, then create the laws they want, often word-for-word.

We have people in my town openly defying the no smoking rules at establishments. Guy I know who works at a bar/restaraunt says he's never seen a bar fight as bad as when some guy told another guy to put out his cigar. "There was blood all over the bar. We shut down for two days."

I live in NW Indiana and apparently the state allows places to decide whether they'll allow indoor smoking or not. The ones that do are filled with the kind of people you'd expect to occupy such a place.
