When my mother was dying of lung cancer a neighbor thought it was appropriate to email me "info" on how mangos can cure cancer. I cried. I wish people had a clue how much this stuff hurts.

My favorite are the people that tell me they would never put big pharma chemicals in their body. Thatโ€™s cool, but Iโ€™m not you and I donโ€™t want to have to have massive portions of my colon removed in 10 years.

I hated being blamed for my chronic illness not getting better. I eventually had the whole thing out and it was the best thing I could have done for me. People judge that choice just as fondly as meds. But those people suck and we donโ€™t care about them.

I thought all of my issues were my fault too. I got patted on the head in my 20โ€™s and was told to change my diet, then in my 50โ€™s, I fail the FIT so colonoscopy, turns out it was Crohns all along. To go through over decades carrying around all that inflammation thinking it was all my fault.

Damn. At least mine was curable. Iโ€™m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I wouldnโ€™t wish crohns on my worst enemy. I tried all the things and they failed. I failed. But I had the worst possible people around me then, too young to stand up for myself. Age brings wisdom and choices. :)
