I have a main account, @lattesdotter.bsky.social, but I wanted a separate account to talk about chronic illness and chronic fatigue. I have been suffering Chronic Fatigue for over 10 years and have gotten a lot of support from online communities.

And with the Supreme Court we have now, there is a real risk of endangering the ADA if any one case gets kicked up to them. I don’t know what you all imagine happens when inaccessibility is spotted, but it’s not the end of a struggle, it’s the beginning.

grumpyhobbit reposted

Darlings. When a disabled person in the United States posts that a place is inaccessible to them, stop telling them to report it. That is not a thing. The ADA is a law, not a service. All it does is ensure we can sue. It doesn’t mean we’ll win. In fact, these suits drag on for years.

Took a shower and washed my hair. I woke up fairly early and did stuff online, but got tired later in the day. Now I have sore muscles from the very little I did. But, Tay, a shower! #CFS

There are no ethical uses of AI. There are no “safe” uses of AI. There are no defensible “leftist” uses of AI. You want to know how I know this? The computer scientists in my life who had to work on it are all suffering moral injuries and burnout.

🪵 2026/10/19 Bit of a slower day today since I forgot my meds until halfway through it. I did manage to get pumpkins clothes washer working... Not so much luck with the dryer. Or fundraising unfortunately. Anything helps! 💸 bit.ly/WDCshApp ☕ ko-fi.com/ommerdraven 🙏⚒️💕💸🏳‍⚧♿💜

My doctor finally refilled my prescription for a ten day supply. I have an appointment with her next week. After a while, you just have to laugh. It's ridiculous. I'll give her a few more months, but at at a certain point she has to trust me, otherwise this isn't care.

I have been dissociating so hard to keep from thinking about this busted up spine, but I messed up. A sad thing happened on a show I was watching and I let myself feel that and it opened the door to All the Feelings. Justice4me.uk is arguing for equal access to safe medical treatment for all #pwME, regardless of symptom severity, in England and Wales. The campaign needs more financial support to retain knowledgeable legal representation - for as long as it takes (too long!!)

For people less familiar with ME, we often get "white matter hyperintensities" "white matter lesions" or "punctate white matter lesions" diagnosed via MRI. These are common in circulatory and neurological disease, but they're non-specific. You see them in advanced age, too.

grumpyhobbit reposted

Still remember the MS specialist saying, "prepare yourself" because #MECFS signs and symptoms look so much like MS that even the MS expert was sure! "Nope; you have the wrong lesions... you may have a kind of 'pre-MS'," was her conclusion. 25% of MS diagnoses are misdiagnoses. How many are ME?

When a doctor puts you on 2×15 days for a medication you have been taking on a monthly basis for decades, she is telling you that she thinks you are a drug addict. And when it's a medication that helps with fatigue, she's telling you she doesn't believe you have chronic fatigue.

But if I say anything critical to this doctor while she is my doctor, I get called difficult and abusive. It's an incredibly abusive system. Where doctors are the abusers.

As always: research or reporting that seems basic and common sense is often needed to establish baseline common sense among people who aren’t clued in. Sometimes it’s frustrating. (See: disabled people have BEEN TELLING YOU about COVID.) But it’s important.

This post is unavailable.

So I am waiting for a renewal of a 15 day supply of medication I last took on October 4th. So, we are one day past a critical point if I were desperate for the medication. I usually get this refilled every 30 days, but even then, the 2×15 days or 30 days is tomorrow.

Fortunately, if my current doctor is really that bad, as soon as I find a new doctor, I can report her to the local chapter of the AARP for discrimination against the elderly. And I can report her for discrimination against the disabled. I just have to find another doctor first.
