The most infuriating thing about the Kushner/Hasan 1-2 is that it makes obvious the fact that Jeffries doesn't believe that Trump and Republicans represent a grave threat that requires our immediate and undivided focus, despite that being an essentially unanimous belief among his party's voters.

I think it's bad that the Democrats' House leader is having secret chummy meetings with a guy doing a domestic ethnic cleansing operation and funding a genocide abroad, then spending his entire week going on cable news to complain about a lefty Twitch streamer who nobody knows. Sorry for offending.

The mainline Democrats: “We want a strong Republican Party, an opposition that is still loyal to the country.” Pretty much all Republicans: “There’s room in the camps for all of you Communist scum.”

hasan piker does present an obvious threat to that aipac money so u can understand why he needs the entire democratic party to speak on it

Hassan Piker may just be a better choice for Speaker than Jeffries. Piker is likely a more honest broker. We don’t believe that Kushner was just making an initial offer to buy Jeffries? Why would you talk to Kushner if he’s not under oath?

Cuz he's a greedy coward chasing external validation For evolutionary reasons, humans who actively rationalize violence away CHOOSE to stay stupid, self-loathing, and fear-driven Seeing reality requires optimizing LOVE-based moral taste We're trained to ignore harm to life for profit here 💲>💚=🔥🌎

people don't understand the implications of "no negotiations with the Trump admin, ever". Not even slightly. When the other side has a 10,000 to 1 advantage in guns, the only non-horrific way they're leaving is voluntarily, and it's going to take negotiations. Even fake promises of leniency!

Well the thing is Israel doesn't see Trump and the Republicans as a threat at all, and AIPAC pays Jeffries and the corporatist Democrats big money to make sure they tank the elections screaming about Hasan Pikar. Basically, Israel owns the Democratic party the way Russia owns the Republican party.

I can't stress this enough. Most, but not all, Democrats think they are playing a game against Republicans. That's all. When you legalize bribery (PACs etc), you attract soulless mercenaries, not principled people.

This. Their "pals across the aisle" tell them it will all be candy and lollipops when trump is gone so these spineless hacks ahve an excuse to do nothing. By the time these dolts realize they're on the menu too, the Constitution will be in tatters.

Civics people! The Speaker, unless he has a veto proof majority in the house AND the senate, cannot pass legislation with out buy in from the President. It’s how it’s designed to work. Meeting with a close advisor to the president before the election is not dumb or a sell out. Piker is a moron too

In normal times & with normal people, yes this is how things work. In this case, Jeffries is trusting that Trump's party will deal faithfully, not lie about their intentions & uphold their promises. Laughable if it wasn't so dangerous.

Failure to identify serious threat, of any kind, has to disqualify any leader. There's nothing political or partisan about this. Good intentions, great ideas, none of these can compensate for failure to protect from danger.

"Dem tea party" is a truism at this point but I do think there's a parallel here, where the pre-Trump GOP elites thought there was some mutual was winking and nodding along with all of the psycho rhetoric with the base and that they didn't *actually* believe it.

Extremely well said; as far as Jeffries is concerned Hasan Piker is a bigger threat than Donald Trump. Why? Because capitalism can coexist with fascism but not with socialism and Jeffries ultimately obeys the donors.
