I was not prepared for how much of that thread is people commented that they are prepared to use their military training to take part in an insurgency against the federal government.

That's... Comforting? I don't know what that is. I guess I'm glad to hear that former military (current military) are willing to defend the Constitution.

Lots of military (and ex-) folks are s-tier Constitutional devotees. Recent (and not) years of degeneration in cultural messaging may have made it seem cringe to take things like oaths and loyalty seriously, but many people do and will continue to do so.
