> "Just comply" isn't a principle. It's cowardice dressed up as common sense. I think the response is, why can’t ICE comply? Courts have ruled that recording cops in public is protected by 1A. ICE should just comply with court orders. They rule that fleeing is not grounds for deadly force. Comply.

Not that any more proof is needed at this point but I'll throw in the dreaded FEMA camps. Chuds were up in arms when the (deluded) prospect was of white citizens being thrown into imaginary camps. When the prospect was of non-white citizens being thrown into very real camps, they're all for it.

Literally and exactly the same as right wing “Christians” ejecting Jesus from their catechism because they can’t handle the cognitive dissonance between their life and his teachings. All the former tyranny resisters will decide there’s things more important to them than freedom and the Constitution.

All those fucktards are who they hired. That’s why they’re quiet. They’re wearing the masks & doing the killing, kidnapping, raping & beating

MAGAts just don't understand how hypocrisy works. How it should work: "You're being hypocritical and I want us all to be principled" How they use it: "You're being hypocritical so I now have a license to speak and act in bad faith"

That's a good post for sure. It's basically been evergreen since the founding of the nation. The terror and violence you allow your government to commit to people outside of its borders will eventually be visited upon you. The violence has been here the whole time for marginalized people.

Yes. The terror committed in stealing land to even *make those borders, outside its borders with invading and kidnapping people to build the nation, and then continuing within its borders.

yes, I checked since thanks to our tech overlords you have to do that these days - anyway this guy has been on reddit for 13 years and has a pretty consistent voice - so no, I do not think this is AI

It’s still AI-written; he prompted the AI to try to ape his manner of speaking, and perhaps he did some post-generation editing, but it’s still entirely obvious. Go to his profile and read some comments from 7 or 8 years ago. They are quite different in style.

it could be that he was really young 7 or 8 yrs ago (lots of redditors make accounts as teens) and got better at expressing himself on the internet as he aged. just looking at his comments over the past 2-3 years nothing strikes me as inconsistent. A ChatGPT version of this would be flatter imo? 🧐

It seems like it might have been his own sentiments run through AI for polish - and yes, as I specifically said, I looked at his old posts.

I'm glad my post has resonated with people, I never expected for it to have this kind of impact. I created this account last night cause I heard it had been shared here, and I was curious to see what people were saying. I'm at a loss for words honestly. Thank you for giving it visibility though.

All the butthurt conservatives reporting the post as "not military related" and the /r/military mods are nooooot having it

That's flattering, but good god, no. I'm not a good public speaker, and I don't want the kind of scrutiny that comes with that hurting my family. I write, and if push comes to shove, I'll tap into my years in the Army to lead soldiers and fight.

The 'Don't Tread on Me' crowd switching to 'Tread on Them' isn't hypocrisy—it's a feature. For many, 'Freedom' was never a universal ideal; it was just a synonym for 'Dominance.' They don't want the boot gone; they just want to be the ones wearing it. Selective tyranny is just a business model.

I was not prepared for how much of that thread is people commented that they are prepared to use their military training to take part in an insurgency against the federal government.

Lots of military (and ex-) folks are s-tier Constitutional devotees. Recent (and not) years of degeneration in cultural messaging may have made it seem cringe to take things like oaths and loyalty seriously, but many people do and will continue to do so.

His comment works Yet ... The 'just comply' mantra is something repeated endlessly to preserve a belief system There is no logic, just compliance to the supreme belief They have been raised to be unable to think their way out of a crossword puzzle Education is key to solving this

Toss in all the corporations who genuinely embraced diversity until they didn’t, the elite schools that couldn’t capitulate fast enough, the CEOs lining up with their bribes, and the “co-equal” branch elected officials who could find enough spine to honor their oaths. F all those guys too.

"Cheering when it's their side doing it"? I must have slept through a whole lot of stuff when a Dem was president because I can't recall federal agents killing Republicans in the streets willy nilly.

I hope the majority of military officers and personnel feels exactly the same way and will only follow legal orders, not the whims of the thousandaire.

I know a sheriff that flies a gadsden flag and likely has their entire career. Most sheriffs are pro Trump/GOP/MAGA. Who is the boot and who is doing the treading? Rightwingers love doing this and then wearing the victim hat after they tread on the people they hate.

The current state of affairs is disgraceful. I am active duty and this is some straight up bullshit. I joined to defend my fellow Americans and fight so they don't have to not for them to get gunned down in the street by the govt that I serve. My blood is boiling and I am beyond ready to fight.

They have been saying this for years. Remember John Crawford? Tamir Rice? There have been others. Cops rolled up, and shot first. Then the 2a folks came out saying "they should have complied" Heck, Breonna Taylor was gunned down when her BF used his the way they say to, and they were like "Well"
