BREAKING: In a loss for voters, the D.C. Circuit affirmed a lower court ruling upholding parts of Trump's executive order targeting mail voting, including allowing: ✔️DHS to build a citizenship registry ✔️USPS to withhold mail ballots from states that don't share voter data with the government

Let me help revise this a bit more honestly: D.C. Circuit refuses, on standing grounds, to temporarily block Trump’s mail-voting order in one lawsuit, while major provisions remain blocked in 23 states and D.C. under a separate case now before the Supreme Court.

A citizenship registry. Who decides if you are a citizen? The people who are against birthright citizenship? Is this another pay to play moment from the crime syndicate?

The Federal government hasn’t even begun to create the infrastructure necessary to manage the mail in ballots that they’re bitching about. That alone should make it simple to overturn this nonsense.

I worked for decades at the largest companies in the finance world, designing, building, and maintaining databases. The idea that junior civil servants are going to be responsible for populating a national database from multiple sources that affects people's rights and liberties is horrifying.

This is why we won't have a blue wave and Dems sitting on their hands acting like the old rules still apply is fucking ridiculous. This is why no one wants to vote for dems and why we're going to end up with a split congress and then nothing will get done.

It's not. It 100% needs to be challenged. This is taking the right to vote away from Americans and anyone in the United States who withholds someone else's vote in an election, would be expecting prison time. Why is USPS exempt from this? They are not. Roberts needs to be thrown in prison

Like, you can trust this govt to have personal data in one place. You may as well just ask Putin to come over and view the data in person, because he's going to get it all anyway. A better-run US gov't couldn't even keep my student loan data accurate, now you want to give them citizenship data?

That bit about withholding mail is incredibly outrageous! 🤬🤬 So what's the point of saying States run their elections? Why not just say the Federal gov't can ignore all votes from a State that doesn't comply? 🤬

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO PART IN ELECTIONS! THAT IS IN THE CONSTITUTION. It was done that way on purpose, TO KEEP TOO MUCH POWER OUT OF ONE MAN’S HANDS!!! These weak little fucks want a king…..

Blue states need to either create a volunteer force to hand deliver ballots to addresses or put out bids for delivery services to deliver them. Monitoring and verification will be necessary, except in rural red areas where they will have to hope the USPS delivers them. Time to play hardball, Dems.

That doesn't help in states that have gone 100% mail ballots. Creating their own delivery/pickup service is only one way for them to get around Trump's takeover of elections.

The EO directs DHS, USPS, and other agencies to "begin developing new rules and procedures for mail voting ..." The DSCC can sue again over the constitutionality those new rules and procedures once they've been written. Right? And why wouldn't they?

Well he’ll, those were the 2 most important things that sane Americans didn’t want to happen to us! As a Veteran, I hear Taps every damn day for our Democracy! SAD AF for our Country! 🇺🇸😢🙏🏾✌🏾🙏🏾😢🇺🇸

The appellate court held that the pro-voting lawsuit was premature but left the door open for renewed challenges. The ruling comes a day after the DOJ asked the Supreme Court to lift a block on implementing the order in 23 blue states plus D.C. in a separate case.

democracydocket.comAppeals court backs Trump bid to block some mail ballots, for now, as Supreme Court mulls issue"The Order ‘may not prove feasible to implement in any manner whatsoever,’" the judges wrote.

🧭 Why the post is wrong The Bluesky post is doing the classic political‑viral trick: • Take a procedural stay • Pretend it’s a full Supreme Court ruling • Frame it as “SCOTUS sides with Trump!” This happens constantly with emergency applications.

Trump has spent his whole time so far as the president of getting rich. Underminding the election system, taking away America programs, taking away citizens rights and money, fighting with other countries & starting wars. I'm wondering when he will be the president of the United States of America.

But in a potential positive sign for voters, the court also noted that, for procedural reasons, it had not considered the steps USPS had taken over the last few weeks to implement the order. We do not consider those developments because they are not part of the record before the district court.

Why should states have to share voter data with the government? Elections are state run. The federal government has no role.

Our democracy is on life support. If we can’t trust the government or the judiciary to follow the constitution, what is left. I always vote in person, but unfortunately not all people can. This is an assault on our rights.

Find a way to get your ballot from the board of elections in your county. Plan ahead. Don't rely on the mail. Form groups to give rides. Vote early. Double check your registration especially if you have moved. Do not let them win!

Doesn’t the federal government already have a list of citizens called social security numbers? If they’ve let anyone not eligible have a SSN then that’s on them. Hey republicans, remember FREEDOM!? How quickly you abandoned it to sell your souls.

What if some people don't receive a mail-in ballot to start with? "It threatens criminal penalties for election officials, mail carriers and others who send ballots TO or deliver ballots FROM individuals the administration deems ineligible." |Brennan Center for Justice share.google/OVArYwGkfsgX...

share.googleAnalyzing the President’s Executive Order on Mail VotingThis bid to seize control of mail voting would wreak havoc on elections and harm American voters.

Voting by mail is for active-duty military personnel, people with disabilities, those without transportation, the elderly, and people who work long hours—especially those who work the night shift. (Trump vote for mail)
