The zoopunk one still hurts me the most because I loved FIST:Forged in Shadow Torch and got really excited that zoopunk was effectively a sequal, then I heard about the generative AI ship building mechanic they shoehorned into it and had a whirlwind of emotions

If you're going to make a furry game please for the love of dog get some furry artists onboard, they're creative, devoted and will produce furry looking characters instead of this asset bash crapshoot

Definitely have to agree with others' comments here. There is literally no mention of Nodus Falls in the linked article, which itself seems to suggest PLANS for AI implementation rather than saying "We made this game with AI."

So this one specifically was used in pre-production before the announcement in TGS 2023 so the timeframe would be the very early days of AI usage around mid 2021. They did the right thing by disclosing and by explaining when it was used. Hindsight is 20/20 basically.

They thankfully updated the disclosure saying no AI-generated content will be in the final game. Still, it sucks that Sega even used it in the first place.

The article you attached doesn’t even mention the nodus falls. Moreover, it speaks of AI which has been used in games for years (npc behavior, generating plain and repetitive but massive environments etc). I know that hating on hoyo is fun but please at least give real reasons.

It's pretty clearly about GenAI/LLM investment: > HoYoverse detailed plans to develop an internal AI ecosystem, including GPU clusters, training systems, and application architecture, rather than relying only on external AI models.

I'd prefer to not defend Hoyoverse, but the article does not state Nodus is using genAi. I'm not even sure what they're going to do with Ai and what not. These press releases always keep things so effing nebulous. And Genshin uses in house artists + freelancers for their Character Designs and Videos

Well, if you read the article, it notes that the discussion was the company looking to make their own AI model not use external ones. I.e., in the future. And focused around NPC interactions. Meaning they're not using AI *yet*. So your feeling that the trailer was ai was, indeed, unfounded.

Zoopunk using A.I. is fucking tragic since it's the same devs that made F.I.S.T. Like... they have shown they can make an amazing game completely with human hands, why turn to the darkside?

As far as I've been able to tell they're making the game itself without any genAI, but it's going to come with genAI tools the player can use (or not use) to roll their own cosmetics.

If you truly believe that the developers implemented an entire GenAI friendly system for modding their game, but didn't include GenAI in the main product, I have some bottles of snake oil to sell you.
