Humans are capable of recursive self-improvement. TESCREAL talks about a "singularity"— a machine that learns to self-improve without limit. Using their terms, I sincerely believe the slow-takeoff singularity occurred in 3000 BCE when primates invented writing, which lets us make ourselves smarter.

Machines have been improving machines in a true Vingean singularity since we stopped designing microchips by hand. But apparently that’s not good (or fast) enough for some people.

Makes me think if we're equality as good as convincing our creator that we're capable and understanding things we have no actual clue about. Like, do they get giddy and think "woah this human has actually figured out love check that out!" because some teen is quoting song lyrics wrong?

Imagine a machine that allows you to increase your own intelligence. Now imagine if you could use that machine to design additional machines, making the process self-compounding. Marvel at the implications of this outlandish sci-fi scenario that obvs requires $billions in VC investment to make real.
