this made me laugh.. " a person libelled by LA Times waives the right to prosecute the LA times if they read the libel in the LA Times." nice take on catch 22 (not) ROFLMFAO
Well this is eleventy-million kinds of Fucked Up. @latimes.com (who once contracted with me as a freelance reviewer and whom I struggled to get paid by) asserts that *merely reading its website* constitutes a permanent waiver of your right to sue it under *any circumstances*.

Ultimately, if you only have time to know one thing about all of this, just know that not a single solitary tech oligarch, tech company, or tech-backed politician has a single solitary serious commitment to the existence of Black political power or economic security in their plans for the future.

Australian indie game community organisation Freeplay has been accused of discrimination following the removal of a sponsor hours before its annual showcase event. The organisers of Melbourne International Games Week, which it was part of, have called it "a clear breach" of its code of conduct.

All of my games are 55% off on itchio (partly because the ones on Steam are also on sale, but I do really need the money) So if you're looking for games that are hard to describe and you can't just take 3-5 genre words and throw them together, then have a look itch.io/s/203440/aut...

yeah i'm starting to think this is purposeful deflection. "oh no soylent green might turn into godzilla you better regulate VERY CAREFULLY who's allowed to sell it and we're prepared to work closely with you to be the only ones left" meanwhile nobody looks into what actually goes into soylent green

My friend made a cool game on a game jam and within a month a slopclone of it is on Steam. This is happening every day for indie devs and I hate it.
Another such case. Every day, an indie game developer making something cool and sharing is getting ripped off by these clowns. Original on the left. Don’t share your game - no sales Share your game - gets stolen
Every paragraph of the article is proof that AI is 90% vaporware and marketing. Every technical flaw is spinned to be human, every bug to be a feature (you're just not squinting hard enough) and consistency of proponents logical arguments is irrelevant at best
Tilly Norwood, a controversial AI “actor,” abruptly switched languages during an interview with Piers Morgan, though the company behind the AI creation denied she malfunctioned.
A lot of glazing going on in the comments here about Japanese labour laws. Konami is listed in the title - the same Konami that literally locked in their workers for crunch. As much as I love Japan, crunch is even prevalent outside of games there don't miscredit their "healthy" jobs as sanctuary.
Japanese companies like Nintendo, Capcom, and Konami are healthier because they have smaller teams, don't have frequent layoffs, and don't pay executives $30 million, says expert www.gamesradar.com/games/japane...

People would be shocked how often a romance mechanic is planned or pitched for a game that could genuinely benefit from it, only to be blocked by a single oldhead dude in leadership despite everyone else being into the idea because he thinks romance game play is "weird" or "cringe."
Random thought I could probably write a whole essay about some time: the fact that there aren‘t more mainstream Romance video games is such a bizarre failure, like don‘t you people wanna make money? Why not cater to the infamously ever hungry audience of Romance book readers in another medium?

Man I already feel like we've done SO WELL to get the funding + grants we have got. And at the same time it feels like 'wild success' post launch would be that I can have an 'ok' living for 1 person for a few more years. And that idea of 'ok' would still be below median wage for my country.
