20 years ago, I led an LGBT rights campaign in the Cleveland area, and canvassed her cousins, who outed her to me (she's subsequently come out). They loved her, were proud of her, and wanted the best for her and people like her. She's been 100% true from the start, and I'm sure will always be.

Here's a throwback item. My original* (obviously very loved) cassette single. I didn't have much growing up so a purchase like this took months of saving and careful planning - I think these retailed for $2.99, so it had to be a song I loved. I still love this song. (*yes, he keeps everything).

It was one of the earliest cassette singles I bought. The first one I ever got was 'Heat of The Night' by Bryan Adams which doesn't even have a cover, just a strange plastic clamshell. The tape is cool because it was red when most all tapes were white. This was released in March 1987.

I am totally on board with your list. I am currently obsessed with this artist/group I came across on Bluesky. There is a female and a male, both with soulful, amazing vocals, timely lyrics and revolutionary. I don't know how I found them but this whole album is #fuckfascism bsky.app/profile/ajno...

I don't think she's underrated. People know her value, but they always opt for the noisy ones with gimmicks. People just need to be sat down for 5 minutes. When Taylor Swift was up for several Grammys, I felt that they did a clever move by having female powerhouses Annie Lennox, Tracey Chapman 1/2

Annie Lennox is a Star of Stars performer. I just listened to her Album, for the millionth time, the other day. Precious little Angel is still a personal favorite and one I often sang to my late wife.

there's no a single artist I can think of that can hold a whole stadiums rapt attention with just an acoustic guitar and a microphone - everyone else needs accoutrements like big screens, lights, dancers, movement etc to play a venue that big

Seriously one of the greatest albums ever. I was fortunate to be at the Mandela 70th Birthday concert at Wembley in '88 where she first came to prominence. Love the way she's just stayed true to herself.

There was a guy who used to lip synch to this album outside German railway stations. Looked a lot like the album cover. Gathered big crowds, sold a *ton* of bootleg CDs. I wonder how many German people still talk about this amazing (male) busker they once saw.

Sang this at Karaoke the other night after a rally I organized. Poor people are gonna rise up

Don't be tempted by the shiny apple Don't you eat of the bitter fruit Hunger only for a taste of justice Hunger only for a world of truth ...all that you have is your soul

Or maybe, for a start, ongoing nationwide peaceful protests in numbers growing to 12 million demanding that the Trump regime resigns, until it does.
