Everyone keeps asking me how I’m feeling about early voting so far. I’m feeling like nobody *actually* knows anything, and this is the most important midterm of our lives. I’d rather be us than them, but we can’t get comfortable. We can’t get complacent. Go vote like we’re down 3%.

Oh yeah. Let's do this.

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale.

While I'm excited by the early vote totals, I hope folks don't get complacent. Vote like we're behind. Every last vote will be important, and it's the only way we can check this madness at the top.

NEW AD: “Ken Paxton says I don't have his experience — and he's right. I’ve never been indicted for fraud. I’ve never been reported to the FBI for bribery. I’ve never been impeached by my own party. And I’ve never given a sweetheart deal to a pedophile.”

Cartoon villains aren't this bad. It'd be comical if it weren't such a close race. Vote Talarico starting Monday!

Ken Paxton voted against a bill making animal abusers pay to treat the animals they hurt. Paxton went on to protect a research lab that tortured 400 puppies.

Vote Talarico.

ProPublica@propublica.org

While suspended from office and awaiting his impeachment trial, Texas AG Ken Paxton took at least 17 trips. State police joined him each time, costing taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars for trips unrelated to his job. with @texastribune.org

If the polls say it's a close race, assume we're losing. Go vote. If it's a tie, go vote. Of the polls say we're up, assume we're not. Go vote. And in each case, take a friend or neighbor to vote also. It will take every single one of us.

The amount of damage this could do in TX... Don't mess with chips & salsa.

Team Talarico@teamtalaricohq.bsky.social

Restaurants are warning that the tariffs Ken Paxton supports could end free chips and salsa.

My subversive act of the evening: I donated to @jamestalarico.bsky.social and I did it from his website, not a text link or an email link. I know they have to fundraise, but damn, have I gotten a pile of texts today. But give to your candidates, folks. We're almost there.

He worked so hard to write this schtick, only to flub the delivery. Truly embarrassing

Hegseth: "It's worth saying again so the fake news understands it. We are no longer the woke department or the weak department. Simple translation of that -- no fatties no trannies no beardos no weirdos no wimps no radicals. Just warriors."

Just renewed my volunteer deputy voter registrar application. I don't see many people, but I want to be able to help anybody I work with to get involved. I know it expires in December, but I have through October 5 to make a difference. Every race, every election, every time.

Big news: The family of Tierra Walker, who died after she couldn't get an abortion, is suing a slate of Texas actors in state court, including AG Ken Paxton. They say the state ban is unconstitutional. This is the first suit of its kind. 19thnews.org/2026/09/texa...

19thnews.orgTierra Walker died after she couldn’t get an abortion. Her family is suing Ken PaxtonThe case, filed Tuesday, argues that Texas’ near-total abortion ban violates the state and U.S. Constitutions, which “prohibit state actors from killing their citizens.”

I finally found something I agree with the orange one on: "It is a Court that will go down as having rendered some of the most destructive, hurtful, and damaging decisions in our Country's history."

Oh my god, that's a savage assessment. I've been to some pretty weak-ass pep rallies for a crappy home team, and in Texan, this is a devastating burn.

Brian J. Karem@briankarem.bsky.social

Here’s one for you from a Texas attendee of the midterm GOP convention: “It was like an extended pep rally for a Texas High School football game with fewer people and less energy.”

Infuriating!

Being on the suspense list in Texas does NOT mean you can't vote. It means you'll most likely have to fill out an address confirmation card. Don't panic. Contact your local voter registrar and get it fixed now, so you have time to get it all corrected before the October deadline.

As we head into election season, your upteenth reminder (that's a lot of reminders) that what people tell pollsters is a fraught and highly imprecise measure of a public's actual opinion. All that matters are the votes. Vote.

Small victories. I've been struggling with a shoulder injury for a while, and PT is helping so much. Yesterday, I was able to get my German-made standard transmission into reverse with only one hand! It's still a little tender, but I used to have to use two hands to get enough force. PROGRESS! YAY

When it comes to your children’s health, listen to doctors. Not a president who once told Americans to inject bleach. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ immunization recommendations have not changed.

Sixty-one years ago, the Voting Rights Act became the law of the land after generations of Americans refused to accept that the right to vote should depend on who you are.

Grotesque to sully the magnificence of Big Bend with this idiotic wall.

Alt National Park Service@altnps.bsky.social

Mainstream media isn’t talking about it, but bulldozers and construction crews have descended upon Texas’ Big Bend National Park as the Trump administration moves forward with its border barrier project. The project will permanently damage one of our nation’s greatest natural treasures.

This is your semi-regular reminder that polls are shit. People lie, and only votes are votes. Always vote. And think like you're behind. It's good to balance a sense of urgency with hope.
