I've been seeing this in ebooks and it's really frying my sense of wonder. Like what sort of shitbag do you have to be to let AI write a story for you that you then publish as yours? It's despicable
Y'know what would be awesome would be for a huge indie dev to put "Generative AI Disclosure: I DIDN'T USE THAT SHIT FUCK GEN AI IT SUCKS ASS I HATE GENERATIVE AI THIS GAME IS 1000% HUMAN MADE BECAUSE I DIED AND CAME BACK NINE TIMES TO MAKE THIS GAME"
I am really looking forward to Toby Fox's inevitable anti AI statement. He's already poked fun at it a tiny bit but not to an extent that satisfies my radically anti AI standpoint shared by most intelligent life forms
Yep...I even had multiple devs let me know about their steam next fest demos and they had AI in them. I wish we could filter out games with AI in them.
Unfortunately I think Valve is being complacent and riding the wave at the moment. Eventually theyโll cave and add a filter when Slop becomes less relevantโฆ
Nobody is throwing rocks at people who weren't in the know. It's what you do after you find out. Devs are getting craftier and shittier with their tactics trying to weasel this shit into all their games.
Sad that we kind of have to have the plugin that slaps us in the face with the warning, and use a separate web view for the steam store to filter out stuff with AI.
I really should just install that plugin but Iโm so used to scrolling down to the bottom of the page now before giving a shit about the game I just clicked on lmao. Sad times.
Mimicry! uses no generative AI! I would like to recommend everyone to check it out ๐๐ (sincerely a 2D artist who worked on the game and knows the whole team is anti-AI)
i really wish there was some rule about AI-generated store assets. i've seen multiple games than i know for sure have utilised AI in promotional images but only one has actually disclosed that fact on it's store page
