DMUv2 PATTERN IMPORT WORKS some instruments are a bit off and effects are definitely broken but IT'S MOON CHILD (WOAH OH OH OH)

actually if you're mentioning him i might as well ask just in case he knows: what's the 7th byte in the DMU instrument structure intended for, right after the pitch table index and before the delay? it's the one thing that i haven't been able to figure out yet in there

I'm a bluesky n00b so can't see to what magic bytes you are referring too. 😅 Is it about some waveform/instrument effect? btw some instruments would be hard to emulate as Mugician had some 'waveform manipulation stuff' that I don't know if it has ever been used in other trackers.

i also had to manually correct the tempo after import because i haven't yet figured out how v2 handles tempo compared to v1

this also confirmed something i was wondering about; i've hidden the "real" 4th channel here because it has no pattern data, since the original replayer downmixes the last 4 channels shown here and plays them all on that 4th channel

new finding: it appears that the moon child music specifically plays at a rate other than 50hz? this is the only module in the format that i've seen so far that plays at a different rate, and i have yet to determine what part of the file specifies this...

(specifically, playing at 80hz appears to fix nearly every timing-related issue; this type of thing is done somewhat easily on amiga thanks to its dual CIA chips that provide programmable timers)

I'm curious what this means for resampling/interpolation of samples on those channels if they are being mixed in software
