big fan too, really have to play that again, haven't actually tried the last few updates. my current plan is to turn my planet generator into a base for other people (and me) to easily make games with it, so we can have lots of smaller indie-"no man's sky"-games

Very cool! I could see these being used for creating DnD worlds, or any TTRPGs. Would also be neat to see this tech used to show Earth over the eons. I wonder if it could be paired with what creatures occurred at different land mass configurations. Very cool though.

shouldnt be too hard, my plan is to have a thing that you just drop into any threejs project and have an instant "map" for your game, still not quite where i want it to be regarding easy customization for that though

Well that's something I'd really love to test. Please do keep us posted. If it works in any three.js project it'll work on Rogue Engine. Sometimes I just copy/paste random examples in a component and with a few tiny adjustments it works, so this shouldn't be any different!

Nice. I zoomed it full screen - very smooth (frame rate). Would it be hard to have shadows for the palm trees? Seeing the angle relative to the sun would be cool. I've also played with three.js with a Rubik's cube simulator I wrote called "QWERTYcube".

i actually had shadows in the beginning, the problem was you need a pretty big shadow map (like at least 2048x2048) for it not to look shitty and that slowed everything down dramatically on older devices. might add that back in as an option you can enable though

Thanks man, what do you mean by 3d moon rotating style as a loader? something like a 3d moon that gets fuller the more the website is loaded? sounds like a fun idea
