No I’d feel better if you’d stop worshiping a billionaire who spent half a century exploiting slaves hoarding wealth and funding fascists to avoid taxes just cuz now that he’s got one foot in the grave and can’t take it with him he gives a little back (as long as they put his name on the building).

I am glad he did that but society shouldn’t have to rely on the largesse of the uber wealthy, because most of them are greedy fuks! Just pay your fair share of taxes!

Knight’s given billions to education, but the U.S. still loses huge sums each year to tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy money that could fund public needs without relying on philanthropy. Shouldn’t we prioritize fair taxation over depending on generosity?

How about joining with five other multi-billionaire philanthropists to set up an independent non-profit whose purpose is to measure the American economy and to improve the science of measurement. Set it up and let it run itself under a board composed of some of the nation's best social scientists.

Yes, there are good billionaires who try to use their fortunes for the betterment of mankind. Unfortunately, we've got greedy tech bros kissing Trumps ass so they can accumulate more wealth and power. Or worse, straight up Nazis like Peter Theil, who personally sponsored Vance and put him in power.

If he paid taxes and didn’t build a shoe and fast fashion empire on the backs of Asian slave labor, maybe we wouldn’t be in this GD mess. He doesn’t get a cookie for doing a decent PR stunt. Like most billionaire “donations,” look deeper into the charity.

A nice gift to the Cancer research community. This guy is who bought off Washington County and the city of Beaverton, to develop the wetlands& game refuge set aside for all, into the Nike world headquarters, where the no-longer-public trails are patrolled by rent-a-cops. He’s not that nice of a guy

Giving billions is great but NOT SO GREAT WHEN your products are being made by kids, your business plan is to sell like crazy regardless of the environment, to cut sponsorship to champions because they decided to be mothers (ie. Allyson Felix),… If you give the picture, give the full picture.

Like they don't make enough already from Chemo and Radiation, the go to protocol for the last 75 years! The last thing they want is a cure for cancer! It will stop the money flow! Anyone who gives money to any cancer research is a damn FOOL!

That's nice. Will he pay his fair share of taxes? That would also fund cancer research. I don't think the rich people realize how much the poor are thinking of "doing a Luigi" on them. Remember: Firing Squads are in wealthy peoples' future if they support this MAGA fascist regime takeover!

The rest of the world‘s billionaires should take note of what to do with their money, especially when they realize if limited time is and what an impact they can have simply accumulating wealth really doesn’t do much in the big picture and what we were all put here —make a difference

I agree with this in theory, but then I look at the current US administration and think is that money really better in their hands? (But yes, a billion dollars in a ludicrous amount of money for any person to have).

We need to tax the rich at 1960's levels; 90% on the, 35-45% on corporations. Tax billionaires to extinction. Now, because the world doesn't need cruel Christofascists who are destroying the world to force Armageddon.

His company paid thugs to kidnap and beat a labor unionizer in my country. His $2 billion "donation" came from the wealth generated by young girls who are paid pennies to make the shoes he sells in the West for hundreds.

Difference between being a wealthy person or a money hoarder. Wealth is healthy, hoarding is an illness. For the bible thumpers, give you get back 10 fold. Where's logic, common sense, selfless register with greedy fkrz? A pile of money is not worth a pile of starving people.

Wow. Just think if every billionaire in CA and the U.S. would donate to healthcare like Medicaid for less fortunate folks, or seniors on fixed incomes! What a generous man. Nike is not w/o issues, but donating $2 billion to cancer care in OR is cool!
