I don't know about your last point. There is so much money in sports that I'd rather see it go to the "labor" who creates the value than the billionaires behind them. It is all beyond ridiculous though.

I don't respect Gauff because she gets all the accolades (including flag carrier at Olympics) without winning enough to justify it. Her haul from prize money versus endorsements just proves it.

The fact that the best WNBA player, A’ja Wilson, didn’t make this list tells me all that I need to know. I am happy for the tennis players actually getting paid.

The wildest part to me is look at the on-field vs. off-field ratio. The >>>majority of women athletes’ wealth comes from sponsors - they make the tiniest fraction of their earnings from doing their actual job 😤

It's because there are fewer consumers. The men get much higher TV ratings, which leads to enormous TV contracts, which leads to higher salaries for all involved.

and none of them will get a mic and camera stuck in their face and ordered to morally justify their massive wealth at relatively young ages because they can........play tennis and basketball well.

Interesting that Sydney McLaughlin, one of the genuinely all time great athletes, only just scrapes in the top 20.

Sad that nearly all the money comes from corporations rather than the sports themselves. Another sign that we are all slaves to the multinationals.

Nowhere close, despite the equal brilliance of female athletes. Patriarchy does society an enormous disservice.
