So nothing for private coaches and buses in the local link scheme subsidise by the government? Construction workers travelling to work, burning petrol in generators, cement mixers? No cuts for them or rebates? What about commuters in their cars travelling to and from work paying road tolls?

All reliant on an unsustainable source of fuel, it is absolutely certain to fail again either through this kind of action, more war or just plain running out. Meanwhile it's killing the planet and these fools are demanding more drilling.

Regardless of wars, oil prices are trending in one direction and we’re going to end up back in this situation. I sincerely doubt that the people involved in these protests are thinking about the long-term viability of their livelihoods. If they were they’d be demanding that gov works harder to make

industrial EVs etc. a realistic option for them. Improving the electrical grid, providing grants for charging stations and the vehicles themselves and so on.

Can I get my Fuel Support Scheme to pay for my Home Heating Oil and so I can continue to go to work? Or am I supposed to stop buying food for my kids instead? Why are FFG capitulating to terrorists?

Is the 95% of the country that isn't a haulier or a farmer not affected by the rise in fuel costs? I thought the protestors claimed they were doing it for everyone? Farmers already get discount diesel compared to everyone else

Because the big lads might thump them. So the private contractors who the Gards would have to use and wouldn't be able/willing to protect won't do it. The army won't do it because reasons.

Hopefully sense will prevail. The flotsam and jetsam from Ireland is full and antivax can’t be allowed to hold the country hostage. If office workers in a union employed the same tactics as these protesters they would have been jailed.
