This is @tomflood.bsky.social's work, and it seems relevant here.

Assistant Garda Commissioner Denis Ferry said "all pedestrians" including in urban areas should wear high visibility clothing. "I think you should do everything you can to ensure you're visible," he said. www.thejournal.ie/driving-phon...

if Peadar Tóibín is suggesting that children need to get used to being touched without their consent, he should be asked why

Adverts run by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre looking at consensual hugs between children and their grandparents has been suspended after criticism. Aontú's Peader Tóibín called the ad "bonkers", as he urged a "need to build resilience" among children. www.thejournal.ie/grandparents...

Genuinely would love to know what the editorial decision is with the Irish Times politics podcast having Jamie Bryson on as a guest? What insight are we to learn from him? He is an unelected wind up merchant whose politics of division should have been left in the previous century. Unsubscribe.

Solidarity with all on strike in Ireland today. As for minister for public expenditure Jack Chambers characterising the strike as “deeply unfair on the general public”, these workers are also part of the public, should be treated fairly, paid properly, and their working conditions improved.

Solidarity with absolutely everyone out on the picket line tomorrow. There isn’t a person in Ireland who isn’t affected by this so lend support to everyone you know going out tomorrow. Let them know you are behind them. Up the workers.

An absolutely cracking morning to cycle to work. To be fair, most mornings are like this. About to cross kilometre 3000 for the year. Majority of them have come from simply commuting to work.

That sound you hear is every developer in Ireland updating their sales sheets by adding €5000 to the asking price of every home.

Having absolutely no ambition whatsoever should be a trait that instantly disqualifys you as a politican.

Was refused entry to the Ladies FAI cup final for ‘trying to make a political statement’ by wearing this jersey. Had to get the wonderful Shelbourne club SLO John Brennan to sort it out. Incase anyone was worried if the FAI couldn’t embarrass themselves any further.

Hard to describe how proud I'd be of the Irish team if they refused to play this match. Probably equal to the disgust I feel towards the FAI and Government for putting them in this position.

Having spent a lot of time being on the 43 bus that went by Mount Temple and having to listen to their insufferable students, it makes perfect sense that this is where U2 went to school.

U2 have returned to their former school in Dublin for a special performance marking 50 years since the band first came together. Outside the school, Bono said he was honoured to be let back in. 📺 More on Virgin Media PLAY #U2 #Bono #Dublin #IrishMusic #MusicNews #VirginMediaNews

There is no middle ground with the kind of people who attack the RNLI. We don’t need to ‘listen’ to them. We need to tell them where to go.

An evergreen reminder that most people are on Bluesky to get away from the cesspit that was Twitter / X. If I wanted to see screenshot after screenshot of what the worst people ever are up to over there, I would still have my Twitter account.
