I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

Can someone tell me what our government is actually *for*? They won't pay public servants, teachers, universities, criminal and family lawyers, won't fund railways, bus corridors and electric rollout, won't build homes, but also won't allow others to build them, won't pay doctors or mental health.

RTÉ News@news.rte.ie

Universities are to tell an Oireachtas committee that they are at capacity and teetering on a cliff-edge unless the Government addresses a funding gap in higher education.

Worth pointing out: Irish Water don't know how much water our Data Centres are using. FFG don't want anyone to know how much water the Data Centres are using. Just as they don't want us to know how much electricity they use, nor how cheaply they get it. #speirgorm

Daniel Aldrich@danielaldrich.bsky.social

Google was really trying to hide its water use figures, to the degree that it got the council to try to keep its water use figures secret. The community finally got the actual numbers and found out Google was using 29 percent of the water in the community. www.wired.com/story/what-t...

Rang my local FF TD's office this morning. Didn't manage to speak to the man himself I did express my horror, both at the attack on the DRCC by the Government, and the erosion of the importance of teaching children about consent in all cases. Woman on phone agreed with me, which is something.

dgold reposted

Sorry, I've just seen the DRCC consent ad and am I to understand that people are fully losing their minds in our actual Dáil because they suggested you should ask about a hug? We had driving PSAs that traumatised us but we're too sensitive, and all of y'all are losing your mind over a HUG?!

It makes me deeply uncomfortable that the Minister for Justice has used his Twitter account to create an online pile on of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. It also appears to me a dangerous precedent that this minister, and his dept. have instructed the DRCC to remove content that he disapproved of.

Let's all be clear on this. Jim OC was catapulted into a senior cabinet position with almost no political record or utterance behind him outside of internal FF fluff. He has proceeded to reveal.himself to be incapable as well as malicious in office, and it is about time Fianna Fáil pulled him out.

1. A minister should not be able to censor the work of an NGO or advocacy group. The point of NGOs is to challenge, influence policy or act in the interests of their issue. 2. No one should touch a child without consent. 3. Jim O'Callaghan wants to be in the media every day this is a tactic.

In one afternoon FF/FG ministers came down like a tonne of bricks on a rape crisis centre when they spent weeks hiding while Musk's Nazi website they use was producing CSAM. Like many of you, I really really hate these bastards.

It's galling to hear government trot out the same Triple Lock spin that's been disproven time and again. "There's a veto" - There isn't "It's a reform" - They're scrapping it "We've a mandate" - They don't "It's for peacekeeping" - Why does it say 'peace enforcement' then?

I don't think I ever purchased a single in my entire life. First record I ever purchased was a Delta recording of East German musicians playing (I think) Brückner. In possibly 1982?

Seriously. This is a big part of the problem. The BBC "both sides"ing absolutely everything. Even stuff like this which is about what our security services know about election interference. It *does not* require any Tufton Street response. At all.

Mark Thompson@markreckons.bsky.social

Why on earth does this BBC piece on Burnham telling an interviewer the UK security services confirmed Russian interference in the Brexit referendum require a response from a pro Brexit pressure group? It's literally our Prime Minister telling us about election security. It's nothing to do with them.
