New Remote Ruby episode is out! With @excid3.com on paternity leave, I brought in @drbragg.dev and @chaelcodes.bsky.social to unpack the recent controversies surrounding Ruby Central and its control over RubyGems and Bundler. www.buzzsprout.com/2260490/epis...

I don’t know why you refused to talk about DHH. He was the reason sidekick pulled their sponsorship. DHH and Tobi have been acting atrociously since the debacle insulting and berating valuable members of the community. If you are brave address this in a podcast

> DHH and Tobi have been acting atrociously (sic) insulting and berating valuable members of the community Can you provide sources for this? We wanted to stick to what’s confirmed (timeline and governance issues), not speculation on motives. The goal wasn’t to dodge, just to keep it useful.

You can look at their xitter posts to see their abuse of various members of the Ruby community. Mike Perham was very public about why he ended his contributions to Ruby central. It was because of DHH Honestly this whole thing at its core is about DHH

Again, can you link to some specific examples?

Yes. Hang on I'll get you the link. Mike Perham did agree he pulled the $250,000/year of funding via Sidekiq due to the platforming of DHH at RailsConf 2025.

How is that DHH's fault?

Where did I say it was DHH's fault? I said simple cause and effect. DHH was platformed at RailsConf 2025. Mike pulled funding.
