Name one team acquired by a large corporation that has gone on to do greater things. Just one. Obviously things like GitHub and NPM are the counter-examples.

Absolutely. GitHub has been thoroughly trashed by Microsoft's leaching of the service with AI: 1. AI settings that MS don't really want you to have are routinely reset to the MS-preferred default. 2. The poor quality introduced by the use of AI-generated code has caused frequent instability.

As for NPM, which was acquired by GitHub prior to being taken over by Microsoft, the regular pollution of dependencies by nefarious hackers is barely even news any more. Unfortunately, it appears that Microsoft has no interest in combating the issue.
