@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, could you please establish an official NYC Mayor account on Bluesky and post everything your office is currently posting on X over here? And please remove all city accounts from X, which has become a CSAM creation and distribution site? No money for Musk, ever, please.

Alternately: Official staff Mastodon server, and can use bridges to get that onto Bsky. I like BSky, but imho institutions shouldn't be beholden to 3rd-party infrastructure for such a core function.

You just have to love seeing folks use ATProto’s lovely little features! And on the mayor.nyc.gov domain! With the blue checkmark!

Bluesky community! This is my official NYC mayor account. I’ll be posting updates on what’s happening at City Hall and how we’re delivering for New Yorkers. It’s great to be here.

For me, money for Musk is the least of the reasons responsible people should be closing down their X accounts. I’m far more concerned that he openly manipulates the platform in favor of fascism over democracy. The CSAM that’s now come to light should be an absolute dealbreaker.

It would be another in a long string of powerful things he does that move the needle. It really feels like the traditional liberal wing that Zohran so decisively defeated is the apparatus that wants us to "shut up and deal with" having to still look for things on X.
