Politico wrote up Zohran playing basketball with the uncovering-a-big-scandal tone the same day the NYTimes wrote up "credible allegation that The President of the United States raped a woman" as a political strategy story. Broken media in a nutshell

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @grahamrayman.bsky.social & Joe Anuta www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

Democrats lost in 2024 because voters 1) Didn't think Trump would do what he said he'd do, and 2) they think Dems don't fight. Namely, they thought if Trump were as bad as they said, they'd be fighting harder. This is the most important thing to remember when you see Dems cave. That's how we lose.

P.S. This isn't really an issue in Michigan where the voters physically mark our paper ballots, but if you use a touchscreen system, MAKE SURE YOUR VOTE DOESN'T GET SWITCHED AND DOUBLE-CHECK THE PAPER COPY TO ENSURE IT'S CORRECT.

I would say if your mail in ballot is rejected go to your poll location and tell them you want a provisional ballot and vote

Check it out. State and local elections are critical to keeping our democracy.

NEW: November will decide the super important officials in charge of running elections. These are the people who'll oversee the next presidential race. This is true in *35* states, so we at Bolts broke down each state one by one. Notably: election deniers running to take over swing states, again.

School boards are way under the radar in a big year like this, but the same battles you've heard about (book bans, Moms for Liberty, trans kids) are happening this year too. I identified 19 school boards where there battles like this — and what's up: boltsmag.org/whats-on-the...

We are 30 days from the election ending! Please make sure your voter registration has not been purged and make a plan to vote. Our freedoms and our democracy are counting on us!

Listen to Willie y'all - make sure you register to vote by this Monday, and then vote for Gina Hinojosa and Texas Dems up and down the ballot this November 3rd (or early voting once it starts October 19th) for change.

We're one month out from Election Day. Listen to Willie. Vote for change this year.

Oh: I really can’t emphasize enough how useful it is to check — literally right now, do it. Likely, it’s peace of mind in a couple of minutes. At worst, you still have time (barely) to remedy it.

A huge thanks for the reminder. My registration was good but my 19 year old’s wasn’t. Trying to fix it by Monday!

The most ordinary man imaginable came to my home state to tell me to ‘get out of America’ while he & Absent Ashley enjoyed the comfort of buildings my ancestors helped build. Imagine standing on the shoulders of the ppl who built this country & then telling their descendants they don’t belong here/2

I would like to see more men talking about how to and peer pressuring each other into calling out misogyny and rape culture. Going against social norms is hard, and it helps to share tips and support.

if we stopped growing alfalfa in deserts to feed cows in saudi arabia basically all of the west's water problems would be solved without anything else having to change (And denver is on the wrong side of the continental divide for that discussion)

40m people rely on the Colorado River, which year after year shows less water in it. Denver Water has declared drought conditions and restricts residential use. You’re saying we shouldn’t care about the new water use equal to 16000 people? www.governing.com/finance/denv...

If you’re from Texas, today's a great day to check your voter registration status. 1.2 million Texan voters were suspended from the voter rolls. There’s time to (re)confirm your registration and make sure you can vote. Go to VoteFromAbroad.org today. Let’s turn Texas BLUE. 💙

many states, including California, also have an option to drop your ballot off directly at a elections office dropbox or election center and avoid USPS on the way back all together, which I'd recommend if possible.

editR@editr.bsky.social

If your state votes by mail, put your ballot in a mailbox AT the post office. Dont send it like regular mail. It's TOO IMPORTANT

a Sunday reminder for Washingtonians out there Washington is the only state where a MAJORITY of the state Supreme Court is on the ballot, all at once a very rare situation no party label on the ballot but candidates are still aligned with parties! important to learn: boltsmag.org/your-state-b...

If any Democrats can figure out how to answer these questions like this they will not only win their own election but they probably help other Dems win theirs elsewhere.

They published this the same day they published the news that Mamdani's office is releasing to the public thousands of documents showing Giuliani's office knew how toxic the air was around Ground Zero and lied about it, leading to more deaths than on 9/11.

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

In a story that's built on questions of Giuliiani's credibility vs. Mamdani's, the New York Times should have pointed out that Giuliani has been disbarred in both Washington, DC, and New York.

Apparently people are sharing this far and wide on social media, which I think is horrible. This could cripple ICE operations. PLEASE do not share this.
