How the fucking hell would a store know my "data"? And if anyone answers with anything that pertains to a cell phone or credit card I say take a hammer to your cell phone and put your credit card in a fire, and pay with cash for everything that you buy. I'm 74 and have never had a credit card.

I also barely have a cell phone. I bought a 50 dollar phone (it came with 1500 minutes) at Walmart a couple of months ago and have barely used it. I haven't even turned it on for at least three weeks. I only got it in case of an emergency and to make important appointments.

They're not the only ones looking at that. There are people on the ballot in November that want to ban that too. None of them are Republicans, of course.

PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TEST STEPS TOWARDS USING THE DATA CENTERS , UBIQUITOUS SURVEILLANCE AND ALGORITHMS TO ENFORCE "PROSPERITY GOSPEL" TYPE DISCRIMINATION. WANT THAT MORTGAGE OR CAR LOAN? BETTER BE OBEDIENT. WANT A LOWER INTEREST RATE? BETTER NOT DISSENT, etc.

That's wonderful it should be that way throughout the whole entire United States they have no business doing that at all we decide what we want they don't need to know they could see people by this or don't buy that it's evil

If offering my sister a sale price of $4.98 for an item and offering me a sale price of $3.99 for the same item at the same time in the same store isn’t illegal it sure should be.

This would still be allowed if you're in different customer tiers. Everyone in the tier has to get the same price, but there can be different tiers based on only your purchase history.

California is being bombarded with continuous fear based ads running every two minutes about how a supposed 'wealth tax' is going to decimate schools, hospitals, wages, assets, equity and on and on. It costs hundreds of millions to run these ads. that often. Who's actually against a 'wealth tax'!

It’s a very off putting use of AI. I’m also disgusted by similar uses that are designed to determine how little gig workers will accept while continuing to work and how much renters will pay without refusing to rent. The greed is SO gross.

Once upon a time, this is just the honest, fair, right thing to do and price gouging is bad and illegal. Nowadays, public servants do ONE thing right, their goddamn job, yet needs PR optics and NEWS. No one is jailed btw!

I truly hate this kind of shit - individualized prices - and another, similar one - 'dynamic pricing', I think they call it, where you go to buy a ticket to something online but the price may vary due to time & demand.

It's already happening w/online searches for airline tickets. If you're location is set to "allow" or on" and if you don't have VPN on, your price for an air flight to wherever could more money than the person looking at the same flight at the same time in a zip cose that is different than yours.

It's obvious that indiviualized pricing is ripe for abuse and discrimination. Prices must be stable and consistent for everyone otherwise, rampant price gouging will be assured. How could anyone verify a price if it changes on an electronic label or ensure minorities aren't charged differently?

Why are we giving it a fancy name? It's price gouging. Surge pricing... A piece of sh_t by another name is still a piece of sh_t. You can see that from just looking at donny.

Though it is illegal, I think you and your friends should go to different grocery stores, text each other prices and see how they compare then POST suspicious differences. Let them try to use and EVERYONE will do it so they're done before it's an actual case. (and it'll be all over the news!

Something weird happened this week. I ordered sparkling water online from the local grocery store. When I went to pick it up, they substituted several flavors (without asking ahead of time) I ignored it. A couple days later I received an E-Mail apology for their error and lack of customer service.

I refuse to use them. For the same reason I stopped filling out reviews (unless the thing is terrible- I’m willing to share that information for free.)
