This understates the issue, right? If the sea level rises, area increases, and if the averages are per area...

It's quite a remarkable acceleration! From 2000 it took about 7 years to raise sea level 2 cm. From 2010... took about 5-6 years to go up 2 more cm. From 2020, took only about 4 years to go up another 2 cm. Expect a couple inches per decade now, it seems.
